man hmong be like.. Big Small we take 'em all. Why do you think there aren't even any  big crappies within the twin city.

Yeah, except for those rare little ponds where no one fishes and poof you find a few big ones, but that's it.  The biggest problem with city lakes is that there's too much destruction of the shoreline that actually produces fish or rather produces the correct environment for food for big fish.

When they cut down all the trees that borders the lake so that it would be enjoyable for people and they can cast, at first it seems like easy to catch fish, but the habitat actually gets ruined later on.  Too much sunlight in the shallows means too much algae growth that chokes out a productive habitat.  That also contributes to poor fishing in city lakes.

Yeap, that's always the case.  Just like how I used to fish Clear Lake and hardly ever see anyone there.  Then all of a sudden, there's a boom town of tail gate party fishing peeps there all the time.  I'm just wondering what in the world are they all catching there.  :D

Gotta be willing to travel
I used to be adventurous in my younger years. Now I just do it for fun. Just an excuse to enjoy life, more like nature. I still hold on to all my expensive rods and gears. Not hard-core like I once did.

Rock,

Where are your buckets of smelts? Where's the P next to them? Better go get some this weekend.

Okay, I'm thinking of going up tomorrow again. Saturday night and early morning should be pretty good this time.
