Homemade Hmong Food
« on: May 31, 2021, 11:18:23 AM »
I miss Hmong food that's made with care and love at home.  Hmong party food are the best.

I love the fresh-killed bitter beef bone soup, fresh-killed pork ribs cooked over an open fire, free range chicken with NC bamboo soup, mov nplej tshiab, zaub paj with fried pork bellies, spicy fish steamed in banana leaves, Hmong pepper dips, etc.  I don't want these things from the stores.  They never make them with love like when made at home for consumption at home.

Anybody doing Hmong home parties, invite your friend Lilly over.  I'll gladly pay for the food.   O0

Two decades ago, if you had a gathering of Hmong wives, you get those foods.

Nowadays, if you had a gathering of Hmong wives, you'll get some store-made Hmong foods with hot pepper dips you don't quite like.

For small home parties, yes, a lot of the food is catered or bought.  But those true Hmong hu plig and khi tes parties that require freshly butchered animals... Those are the parties I want to be invited to.  O0  Oh, I forgot, I love Hmong laab too.

Have you tried tiger laab then, Lilly?

Whenever someone gives me some of those, I usually take them home so I can cook them up.

you can come to my lucky tie string party for my parent if you like
i'm the only one in PH that goes out, kill cow, and do hmong party
i only make $20k but i try to kill and celebrate and eat twice a year
unfortunately can't do that with covid....

add some cow skin to your laab
it's good stuff.. you need to bring torch and burn the hair off etc....

i just kill a cow a couple of weeks ago
didn't do a big celebrate party dude to covid... but i just give meat away

If you don’t have a hubby
Hmong people tend to look down on you
Don’t get invited to hmong party and gathering

Thats just how it is

NO WORRIES
MY WIFE AND I, would be happy to have you

ALL YOU CAN EAT TOO
bring left over home

I miss eating hmong food too.  The only hmong food i know how to cook is boil meats with green veggies.  My husband & kids can never get tired of eating this simple hmong dish.
