It matters to me if I work there and they truly discriminate based on race and/or gender. And yes, if companies are calibrating to be more supportive of minority staff due to the rise of Asian hate crimes as mentioned in the article, I say it's a good move.

I see it and it’s true. The ratio between white and Asian in executive positions in the Silicon Valley is clear even between the Asian males and females is also unambiguous. If you’re minority and a woman, you have a disadvantage to begin with even though you packed a mean resume or better than.

Have I ever been mistaken for another Asian person, yes. It doesn’t happened often but it has happened.
