Pizza delivery man says he was attacked by knife in fatal showdown Saturday

The directions the 25-year-old man received over the phone took him to an abandoned mobile home off the 3200 block of Cypress Mills Road, where he told police he was attacked by a man with a knife. Armed, the deliveryman shot the man in self-defense and called 911 at 11:23 p.m., police said.

Back in 2011, a Hmong Xiong dude was shot and killed while delivering pizzas for Domino's:

Prosecutors filed no criminal charges against a man initially suspected in the Oct. 6 slaying of pizza delivery driver Micky Xiong.

Lee Taylor, 35, was arrested last week and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail, but he was released from custody days later without a court arraignment.

“At this time we did not think there was sufficient evidence to initiate the criminal proceedings,” said Ronald Freitas, chief deputy district attorney of the homicide and gang division.

According to police reports, Xiong was approached and shot in the stomach after he made a pizza delivery on the 300 block of South Sutter Street.
