Shaman is useless...

Illogical without a structure to defend itself from Christianity, Atheist Evolutionist, and Islam (Qu'ran)

Shamanism is a great gift from the lord of the skies and all that is natural. To be one you must be chosen by Shi Yi Neej. In some the blood runs strong and in others, the weaker bloods can postpone or have it banished for good. for the timid or strong willed it all works the same. it is a gift to help solve and cure spiritual questions and illnesses and sometimes even physical illnesses as well. But all in all it is a privilege and an honor to become a shaman. For those that wants it and cant get it please support and respect your local and family shamans. for those who are chosen, be strong and fullfil your destiny. It is a tradition that will not go away anytime soon. We are who we are so embrace it with open arms and serve with dignity and pride

I totally like what you say here...

It's a new field of religious studies, and I believe that many people are scared of knowing what it is, where it came from and what it is used for or what are the possibilities of it.

Do your own research of shamanism before making rude comments about it!!!

Actually, many of you are telling me you don't know that shamanism isn't a religion. It is just a practice in the larger Hmong religious beliefs just like praying is for Christianity or for Buddhism.  The way to get to God in Christianity is by praying, for example. The way to get to the Hmong deities or higher powers is through performing shamanism.

The Hmong's religion comes in two forms: animism (belief in  and worshiping the spirits of nature) and ancestorworshi ping (belief in and worsshiping one's ancestors).  You know why we offer to the valleys or their owners when we hunt? That's because we believe in the spirits of the woods there. You know why we offer to ancestors who have died? That's because we belief in their spirits.

Simple as that.

Curious Vaj,

Let's see if we can reason that shamanism is science.

First, when you burn an incense, doesn't it turn into smoke? Isn't smoke made of atoms? Isn't science dealing with the interactions of atoms? lol...hey, they say Eve was the best scientist because she knew all about the atom (Adam). Agreed? ;D ;D ;D ;D

Where and what verse did it said about that? Give me a verse about the bible where Eve said about that?

We are talking about science, aren't we? Not about the Bible. So why ask for a verse in the Bible?

Hey Curious Vaj,
What is the fundamental structure that you are referring to? Are you suggesting that Shamanism has no structure and therefore it isn't valued as a legit religion.  What are your concepts to support these claims in which you stated that Shamanism is merely a imagination of illusions created by delusional human beings.  In the statements you provided must be proof that you have lost the spirit thread in which each and everyone is linked by this thread and will be forever tied as one common ancestor.  In the past thousands of years, we as hmongs have known each other and able to trace our roots to are fore ancestors is because of our practice.  By practicing our religion we will be able to trace our roots and find our lost families because of one single dab nquaj which will bond us all.  Many Grandpas will ask for your practice and if you share one single practice then you are related but if you don't then they will be able to tell you where your clan is located.  By following the roots of our religion of shamanism we will be able to understand where we had come from or information about our clan.  You may not be a shaman believer but don't doubt the power of the shaman culture because without our religion where will we stand on.  My brothers wether you are shamanism or a christ follower, we all must work together and preserve our culture and our Hmong religion.  You may not believe in Shamanism but at least repect the fact that we have a religion for our hmongs.  For many thousands of years, our hmong people have depended on our religion to survived through the ages and once again we will have to acknowledge it in our presence in america.  A Ethnicity is only embraced and respect if it is done so by its people.  The practice of shamanism is practice very lightly in the USA, and we all will have to embraced it as a religion part of our culture that we can choose to practice or not.  Remembered the old ways, the old treasurary phrases passed down from generation to generation and lost in this centtury.  We will have to acknowledge our religion, our culture even if we don't practice or believe in it.  It is still part of who we are.  We who are still tradition can be link and find our clan even if we lived in a diffrent part of the world.
We As Hmong american will have to work together and join hands together and get this topic over with.
