That's what I heard too. If qhua neeb or dab neeb has chosen you, you have no choice but to deev. And if you don't, the qhau neeb will not leave you in peace.
Now, how did your dad rid of them for good?
I think it would be awesome to have someone who has knowledge about ua neeb to write a book to teach or at least to give other people's some insights on the subject it. Or someone who writes their own personal experiences, like how it started, what they had to go through, and what it's like to be a shaman. Are shaman not allow to talk about these things?

There are so many kind of shamans... My brother's type of shaman is more into buddas... He learn by his dream. They talk and interact with them in his dream. They show him everything. Then he wakes up and tell us.. |

Yeah, I'm sure there are many differnt types. So he's more of a fortune teller type, and not the healer "ua neeb" type, right? |

There's a way out of it but you need another shaman to help. Sorry I can't write hmong. But it's the translation of the word close or cage. My dad has dab neeb that were caged when he was younger so he's not a shaman. If he wanted to be then another shaman would have to go and release his dab neeb. |

He's just beginning now so we're not sure. He hasn't done it yet but like he'll see things before they happen or his spirits tell him something is going to happen soon. He hasn't done any healing yet cause he's still to young to understand the language they use. |

yeah nowadays it's rip-offs...that i agree, but only believe in half not all because there are not a lot of true shamans..there are real ones that can heal your pains...hmong shamanism is only small..u people should see mien shamanism..the y do it way bigger than we do it.. Interesting!

if u don't want to do it then have a shamanism mentor to come and send back cov dab neeb rov qab then that's it..base from what i heard from some elders... |

You have to pay him for his services. In return the shawman pays his spirit guides with spirit money for their help. |

What do you chant about? and how to go talk to spirits or go into the spirit world? how does it work? i want to know how a shaman know that one spirit is lost etc?? I'm a young shaman. Cept being American as well I'm not sure if I entered the spiritual realm or not, I'm just doing what my master shaman taught me to do. And it's to chant this and that. And if I ever need to jump on my wooden bench that's because I've been sitting too long, and if I need to stand well the wooden bench got uncomfortable. Also with the red hood thing covering my face, it helps me meditate better. And although the drums and the metal rings don't provide the best meditational music I find myself in silence when I ignore all of that and focus on my task, of chanting.

My uncle was i his early 30s when he was chosen..... you have to be chosen to be.. he was never interseted in that kinda of stuff.. but like snakes started showing up in his house, and etc.. weird stuff started happening, he'll hear like bells ringing, and things strangling him at night. it was weird, he couldnt sleep.. so finally he had to become a shaman, he's doing a lot better now! |

i don't know how to explain this too much in english, but my uncle is a shaman (dad's older brother)...he was chosen because many years ago, his nose would bleed nonstop during a specific time when the moon phase changes, or he'll become very ill...after he started to ua neeb, his health started improving... my uncle usually do this thing at the "tha neng" every yr. or so where everyone stands in front of the "tha neng" to test out if that person jumps or not...if so there may be a possibility that this person may be the "choosen" one...i refuse to go there cuz i don't want to know..   one of my friend's brother in law is a shaman, he's only in his early 20's...he'll sense things or hear things... like my uncle, I know he knows or senses things, but he refuse to tell us... |
