That's also why one of the reason to never lend your own car to a relative to use nowadays.  They will just get you a ticket and you the owner still have to pay it.

The owner still be in trouble too alongside his ex-gf. The investigators will suspect the owner's alibi. They may be wondering how did she gets the key in the first place.  ;D

Ex's can keep duplicates from the previous good times.

Investigators who now hold the boyfriend responsible haven't done a good job then.

The owner still be in trouble too alongside his ex-gf. The investigators will suspect the owner's alibi. They may be wondering how did she gets the key in the first place.  ;D
