Just found out why the Greeks call one island Aegean Sea. That's because King Aegean thought his son, Theseus, died and haven't came back home to Athen. So he jumped off the cliff and drown himself in the ocean. His people named after him.

Delphi was a city named after Apollo, God of the Sky. There's a time ordinary men got stuck in the middle of the violent ocean wave. Apollo transform himself into a dolphin and save them from distress. He demanded them to be priests and build a temple so they worship him. The Greeks went to Delphi to see the oracles.

Thanks for the brief Greek history.  Whomever get there first, check if there's more Greek legends about the place and surroundings.  For me, I'm more interested gazing out into the blue sea sitting in one of those cliffs side eatery...or resorts.  I could sit there all morning w/ great company.

For me, I'm interested in meeting Greeks and listen more to their folklores. Also ask for candid pictures with them. :)

Yes the Greeks has interesting folklore and those folklore can be pretty sad too.

Also, the Greek God, they all reminds me of mere mortal w/ mortal feelings (jealousy, love, hate, etc..) and human problems and whomever came across them they didn't like, they took out their revenge simply because they were Gods, could do it.

Take the case of Medusa.. Poseidom took advantage of her in the temple of Athena and in turn, Athena turns her into the monster we know her to be...

Now, what about Poseideom, he got away scot free!

So many folklore like these and would be interesting to learn more of them at the source.

Rank from worst to best Gods and Goddesses from Greek Mythology. E.g. 1= worst and 12= best

1. Zeus
2. Poseidon
3. Athena
4. Artemis (Apollo's twin sister)
5. Eris (Goddess of Discord)
6. Ares (God of War)
7. Aphrodite (Goddess of Love)
8. Hermes
9. Apollo (Artemis's twin brother)
10. Hades
11. Hephaestus (God of Blacksmith)
12. Prometheus

Only four Gods that are level-headed help out others in troubled times, Apollo, Hades, Hephaestus, and Prometheus.

Zeus and Athena contradict the law and order they violated. Both are lunatics because of their jealousy and bigotry.

I like classic movies :D :D things of old...

Back in 1982, my parents and I went to visit our relatives for ua neeg plig. They got this nice color TV and antenna so they have cable. I watched with the younger relatives when they watch the classic movie aka Clash of the Titans just like you have linked from YouTube. As a kid, I didn't know that Greek Mythology was Greek's folklore. I thought the Meka made up the story and put it in Hollywood. Similar to Clint Eastwood's wild west collection. My dad got this thick @$$ encyclopedia so I scanned entire book to find anything interesting until I came across a small image that shows a collapsed temple with pillars. I realized Greek folklore ain't made up. When my parents could afford a color TV, I always watch my favorite shows especially cartoons and educational programs. I finally able to watch Clash of the Titans along with other classic shows as Dr. Who, War of the World, and The Three Stooges every Saturday morning til midnight.

As I grew up, I finally learned the story behind that classic movie.

Until 2010, a new movie was released. It's a remake of the old version of Clash of the Titans.
https://youtu.be/K57aIbpF_Co
https://youtu.be/FY00zwMZsqM
https://youtu.be/GrIJLWISdlQ

This is when Limewire and Torrent were available to everyone so anyone could download any movie for free.

Two years later, a sequel of Clash of the Titans was released. It's called Wrath of the Titans.
https://youtu.be/Xs7fzOrUopc

Yep, I watched the new releases.

I've watched all those remake/recent releases but I still think the OLD version is the best.  When I first saw that movie, the scene where the vulture carrying the spirit of Andromeda, it captivated me of the Hmong folklore of liv nyug where back in Laos the cries of liv nyug call the spirit of a living person and whomever got called end up dead later.  I remember once back in Laos when we lived in a hut in our rice field, a liv nyug cried and my mother would make chopping sounds on a wood cutting board.  So that memory stayed with me and that particular scene reminds me of hmong folklore of liv nyug.

Love the 3 Stooges, Larry, Moe, & Curly - hilarious and you don't find comedy like that anymore  :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

I love classic movies including cartoons (Tom & Jerry, the Smurfs, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite. etc..) , superheroes (Flash Gordon, She-ra/He-man, Super Friends, tc..) romance drama, anything old.  In fact, even love classic music.  Back in college, I was probably the only one listening to Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves, etc..

Recognized any of those Cartoons series  ;D ;D ;D ;D  I love love Care Bears & the Smurfs!!!

From the director's perspective, he wanted the characters in the remakes to be more dramatic and theatrical than just poetic and ancient.
Perhaps he wanted to make $$$$ out of the original too.

I never heard of Liv Nyug from my parents. They never told me about this demon. My mother once told me and my siblings some bedtime stories about Nuj Nphlaib thiab Nkauj Ntxawm, the father came back from the dead and ate one of his children, and the tiger came to haunt Hmong people.

Yes I love those classic TV shows. Even nowadays there are classic movies and TV shows available in certain platforms such as Tubi TV, Pluto TV, YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Netflix.

He-Man and She-Ra are on YouTube for free, but some missing videos. On Amazon Prime you gotta purchase whole series/volumes for such a limited price.
Last several weeks ago I just finished watching all 8 seasons on Different Strokes. Man, that show is one long @$$ series. When I was little, I had a crush on the actress, Dana Plato, who cast as "Kimberly Drummond". Throughout the entire series, she went through different stages of beauty. Until 1984 she got married and got pregnant. Her life was a mess. It's sad that she had to go through the troubles get into overdose drug addictions and numerous shoplifting. I couldn't believe she died young at the age of 34 from suicide. She's pretty similar to James Dean when he's careless about his drug addiction and reckless driving. He died from car accident.
Ah well, every actor and actress has his/her own problem dealing with fame and finance.
Then my attention went to another actress on Different Strokes, Kim Richard, a major babe who cast as Ruthie Alder. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/36/fe/0a/36fe0a07f983bd80c1fe5937f38385e0.jpg
https://i.pinimg.com/originals/3b/99/7a/3b997ae96d76ba77e8140cef45359503.jpg

Adolescent age, she cast in Escape to Witch Mountain since 1975.
https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71R2VD038SL._AC_SY445_.gif

Teenage year, she cast in Tuff Turf since 1985 right after Different Strokes. The gal in the red tank top. I watched this movie back in 2014.

I like the storyline of the original Clash of The Titans , the dialogue, characters, so much better and yes too much computer simulation, dramatic, poetic as you mention can ruin the remake.

Dana, I know Dana :D :D and all three stars of Different Strokes later suffered financially after the show ended.

https://www.eightieskids.com/the-sad-truth-about-what-happened-to-the-kids-from-diffrent-strokes/

This is Dana's last interview prior to her death, the next day:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEKMbqtI-84&ab_channel=professorteeth

and her son also died from suicide:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYIodvU88G8&ab_channel=SonyPicturesTelevision

I know Kim too :D :D :D

She and her sister Kyle Richard were stars in Housewives of Beverly Hills and  Kyle Richard was a child star in Little House On The Prairie.  I watched that show religiously and Melissa Gilbert was such an amazing child actor and Michael Landon...amazi ng.

Were you a fan of Little House?

OH, Paris Hilton is her niece since mother is her older sister, Kathy Hilton of different father and here are the three sisters:

So those two were your crush :D :D Did you put up posters of them in your room hahha

Dana Plato's interview with Howard Stern bore me to death. She hardly talks. The only way she could socialize with anyone through movie acting and shooting photography.  O0

I couldn't afford a poster when I was a kid. That'll be for the people who are 17 and the above.  :D
I can see the resemblance between Kyle Richards and Paris Hilton, body structure and status quo.

I watched Little House on the Prairie too. I hadn't have the chance to watch entire seasons because it stop airing somewhere around 1980. Yes, it's a good show. I didn't realized the Ingall family were Jewish including the director and the writer of her novel, Little House on The Prairie. I wasn't paying attention to the details. All I care about is drama on that show.

What?! You haven't seen the show in blue highlights? I believe they were pretty new in the 80's.

I guess you're not a gamer-girl then. The first anime version as The Legend of Zelda was inspired by a Japanese guy, Shigeru Miyamoto, who created the game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Here's a short biography: https://strong-wp.prod.fruition.net/games/the-legend-of-zelda/

The Legend of Zelda became the biggest franchise for the fans. I'm one of them since I played it on every platforms. I like adventures.
