Being a parent comes w/ responsibiliti es just like owning a gun, a knife, a dog, a car, etc.. You need to be responsible gun owner, knife holder, dog owner, car driver, eatc..

You have kids, you got to be responsible for them until they are legally declared an adult.  So yes, if we charged dog owner for being irresponsible, we should charge parents as well.

I understand you are making up lots of excuses for the parents but under the eye of the law, they should be held accountable.   Actually, once you become an adult, excuses will not work in the court of law and even if it doesn't hold in the court of law, there's common sense/moral law.

The hitting driver never intended to kill someone but he has caused the accident that kills the other person.

That's not murder because the term "murder" requires that the person who caused the death actually intended to kill the other person.  The death from some unplanned death like that in a car accident is called manslaughter.  The driver who caused the accident did something dangerous that killed a life. He's responsible for the death but not at the murder level. Yet still responsible for it. The MI prosecutors are going at this case that way.
