Unexpected $1000 bill
« on: January 19, 2022, 06:39:35 PM »
According to bankrate.com’s survey, More than half of Americans couldn't cover a surprise $1,000 bill and inflation is making it worse.

56%, more than half, probably couldn't afford to pay the average emergency roof-repair bill, or replace a higher-end iPhone.

Let’s hope this is just temporary.

Unfortunately, that's a fact of life for some so same here, hope folks can get out of it soon too especially ones that have a legit reason. I remembered working 3 different jobs when I was poor so I'm sure some of these folks can too. That way they can move forward as well.

Looking at the big picture $1000 may be able to buy a Hmong bride back in the 80s but it's really not much now...

The perception of money depends on your bankroll comfort zone.  If you make $1000 a week net, you are in good shape to pay your bookie that $1000.  Just tell them you have it at the end of the week and spare your fingers for now.

Or barter.  Tell them to go into your house and take whatever they want, equals to $1000.

or sell your wife, 1 night stand for $1K.  hmongrock, where you at?    :2funny:

You are absolutely right.

We are living in the age of technology and the society of wanting and needing more.

work is define differently.   I see it as a revenue stream..

If they have investments in something like index funds where it is a lower risk, that is like making money while they are sleeping.
part time gig like being a freelancer work for some online company.  Like people still pay other people to write up a business proposal
your daily 9-5
rental income
passive income

I just mentioned 5 "jobs" there already

the skys the limit.  Only the lazy don't like to work  :2funny:
