2. Mental illness
3. Price out, rent is too high
4. Tired
5. Your spouse kick you out of the house, no place to live

You got 3 out of 5 right. The other 2 ain't right.

We live in a democratic society and within the last decades or so, morals go down and so you see the decline in everything else too.  People don't like to be told what to do in a democratic society:

Can't tell them to wear mask, vaccines, about the environment, jobs, housing, anything.

Also, people today or today's generation focus on the HERE and NOW and don't care about future consequences.

We live in the world where freedom is available. Everyone has rights to do something he/she believe in and stand up for.
No matter we assimilated with the socialists and totalitarians we gotta go along with their laws and that law get us fawked up.

Some love to work because they enjoy serving and some don't. Lol

The homeless here still got it good.

They have shelters available.  They have food pantry dining hall available on the daily.  Some of them are content and are happy being there since they are not constricted by the fascist of the government.  No car = no paying tax, no gas tax, no insurance.  No home = creditors can't bug them to find them to collect from them. 

Try third world country where poverty is the real deal there.  Try africa's countries.  The top 10 worst is all from Africa.  The government there don't give an azz about them so the infrastructure s there are all backwards. 

If you want to see the next worst place to live, try North Korea where their government is onto every citizens there like flies on doo doo.  Your rights are being violated on the daily and they people are snitching on one another just to gain perks from the government.
