Went down to the St. Croix and water is still high, I can't get to my shore spot to fish, unless I actually wade, but not going to, knowing how I've seen an alligator gar before, huge one with a head bigger than mine. The slow murky water, may mean they can easily sneak up on you within feet and you won't even see them.
So went down to the public water works spot...except there's no more water works and it's some townhomes now. So got to do some pike fishing or rather anything. The area is overgrown with cat tails now, sort of remind of when I was a little kid and it was overgrown with lots of cat tails. I don't know what's going on, cuz they did just dredge the area a few years ago and then they got rid of all the carps. So now the vegetation quickly overgrows. I caught over a dozen pikes. So not so productive, but not skunked.
