We got stripe bass here but can not eat a lot of them due to mercury.  The bigger they are, the more mercury they do carry.

Not going the other way for white bass.  I'm going to pulaski (if I go there for j4) cuz my family does it annually for the j4 weekend.  They living a good life over there.  Average income is around $50k but housing on average is only $150k.  Dude got a cabin house out there in the middle of some wood land.  Straight up redneck living and my MN family only visit their son for the j4 and nothing else.  Guy doesn't know how to exploit what he got.  He's been buying up them land that borders his house and it comes with a few ponds.  If I was him, I'll stock them ponds with good fishes and it'll be perfect for guest like myself to fish in it instead of trying to branch out and find fishes elsewhere.  They have existing life in his ponds.  I helped him moved in that one year and I caught me a cricket, put it on a hook and line and caught me a small catfish.

In my state and area close to me, people are saying Crappies are biting like crazy this year and huge one too - 1 1/2 to 2 lbs and some over 2lbs.
I've not went out yet but might this weekend if I have nothing to do.

And get them there

If you do find any they'll be cleaner than the ones in the city. Head up north towards the fresher waters of the lake.

Mostly in the bay area where there's tons of mercury due to construction stirring it up from the bottom of the bay.
