Thinks inflation is great... because it didn't move much from month to month.
During his first sit-down interview in 7+ months with 60Minutes:
Host: "Mr. President, as you know, last Tuesday the annual inflation rate came in at 8.3%, the stock market nosedive, people are shocked at their grocery bills. What can you do better and faster?"
Biden: "First of all, let's put this into perspective... inflation rate month to month, is up, up, up just an inch, hardly at all."
Host: "You're not arguing that 8.3 is good news?"
Biden: "No, I'm not saying that it's good news...but it was 8.2 or 8.2 before. I mean you ack, you ack, make it sound like all of a sudden... My god it went to 8.2%... it's been..."
Host: "It's the highest inflation rate, Mr. President, in 40 years."
Biden: "I got that but... guess where we are? We're in a position where for the last several months, it hasn't spike. It has just barely, has been basically even..."
I usually buy those single serving of pie from Walmart once in a while for $.50 - So, I'll grab 4(apple, blueberry, cherry, peach) while I'm there. It's been like that for the past 2-3 years. Yesterday, I went to Walmart to pick up some coffee filters and these little pie went up to $.75, a 50% increased from a week ago.
