Massive landslide dumps boulders and debris on Nevada highway, video shows

A massive landslide left a Nevada highway closed indefinitely after it dumped boulders and debris across the road, officials said. With the heavy rainfall, the “landslide and rockfall fell across roughly 400 feet of roadway” at around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, cluttering State Route 208 through Wilson Canyon near Yerington, the Nevada Department of Transportation said in a news release. “Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it could be quite some time before this road is cleared of all the debris,” the city of Yerington wrote on Facebook.
