Yep... Had a major machine upgrade these last couple of weeks - started in Dec. 12th until last week. Machine's not even in production yet - still need safety's approval before that. I only got off the weekend of Christmas, not even NY. But it was quiet with only the integrators and myself working in the whole factory.

My schedule is Sunday to Thursday.  I come in to get orders ready for Monday.

That Sunday to Thurs with Fri sat off isn't so bad if you have a social life.

You see me posting on Ph once every 3rd Saturday.  I'll be working this sat so if anyone wants to chit chat, I'll be around.  I traded Sat work with off the following friday.

I used to PTO every friday in 2022.  Why?  Because we cap at 300 hours a year and I was sitting on 260 and my pto grows like weed.  Even if I'm PTO 8 hours every week, it still sits at 260.  I sold 200 hours with 38% tax off it but still a hefty check.  Now I need to build up to another 250 before I can take every Friday off again.

If I have to go into the office on Sunday I only work til Wednesday, which I think it great. Normal days are Monday to Thursday.

You have a schedule that allows you to stay home and play house.

You got thurs and friday, both weekdays to run appointments.  In this way, you do not even have to use your vacation hours unless it is taken for 2 weeks straight for a real vacation.

I used to work weekends which I liked.  It was a good working schedule since  my hobbies involves less crowd, fishing, and snowboarding.  I get to fish when folks are at work and lift tickets are cheaper on weekdays with the mountain to myself.

In response to Duma, I cap out at 240hrs of vacation plus I get 80hrs of personal time albeit the company uses part of it for vacation.  I used to leave work early on my last day of work when I'm about to cap out.  I did that for 4 months.  I accrual 3hrs every week.  I still build vacation even when I'm on vacation.  I could take a day off every 2 weeks.  No one in the history of my workplace has taken 4 weeks of vacation hence I took November off for heck of it and to see if I could.  My boss and other managers had to ask HR lol.  Next time I'll take 8 weeks off.

There's no stupid "P" in this photo so "how do we know it's legit".. ;D ;D ;D:

Anyways, when I worked in the collection division of the USPS back in the 90s, I worked all Sundays and Holidays because the letter carriers are off on those days. The express mail still needs to go out regardless and it's guarantee to be delivered next day or the customers get their money back.

Instead of postal trucks, we drive GSA cars so customers were surprised to see us delivering their express mail on those days. A kid and his mom gave me a big hug during one Christmas because they didn't grandma's gift was going to make on time until I surprised them that Christmas morning... ;D O0

Getting time and a half to double pay on those days was nice! 8)
