I bet she has a gas stove and gas heater in her apt/house, hence her cognitive is declining. Does she even realized that gas heating does the same?
Fact:
1. gas is cheaper than electric
2. majority of homes uses gas for heating - heat house faster
3. 96% of professional chefs uses gas stoves and high percentage of restaurants uses gas stove
4. ease of control - when it's on, it's on and when it's off, it's off - not the typical time to heat up and cool down associated with electric stoves.
