Mask, Vaccine & Isolation change for Sacramentans & other Californians April 3

California will change mask and other COVID rules again. What’s new for Sacramento residents?

Masks rule changes Starting April 3, masks won’t be required in physician offices and other health care settings, long-term care facilities, correctional centers and homeless shelters. Health care facilities are given a month to design and implement plans to protect patients against seasonal viruses. The California Department of Public Health still has other guidance for masks.

Vaccine requirements change April 3 also marks the end of the state order requiring vaccination of health care workers. Federal rules still will ensure most health care workers remain vaccinated against COVID-19.

COVID isolation period adjusted On March 13, the state is reducing the isolation period for a person testing positive for COVID-19. People may end isolation after five days if they feel well, their symptoms are improving and they don’t have a fever for 24 hours. The amended guidelines place less emphasis on testing negative before ending isolation.

This is probably county base because the SF and Alameda county which includes Oakland and Fremont have already lifted the mask mandate for healthcare facility for their patients but healthcare workers still needs to mask up. 

However, Santa clara county has not lifted anything for health care facility. 

If anything, I noticed that asian folks are still masking up more in the bay area.  If I ever go to their asian grocery stores, you will see over 60% of the asian people in there are all masking up.  Now to get an idea of the general population, just go to walmart and do a mask head count.
