My souvenir from Laos back in the late 90s.
« on: April 25, 2023, 11:05:05 AM »
A striped bamboo shoot right from my childhood village. Photographed personally
by me.

I have framed it.

This type of bamboo spreads fast but is very small, and its
shoots don't taste that good. We ate them just because we
had to back when I was a toddler in KM52.

I did bring back a bamboo stick, too, but US Customs confiscated it
at the border because it was a young, raw bamboo.

That’s cool. Something from home.

My sister brought me a small khaen. It’s always reminded me of my childhood and home.

Nice.

I’ve been wanting a cast net. But no one has been willing to get one for me.

A PHer got me a fish basket awhile ago though. It’s very nice for smelting
and keeping small fish like crappies.

People keep many things for nostalgic reason... Like mounting a deer, fish, animal that they shot, etc etc
GFs, EXs, parents, children is no the only thing that people want to remember.

Is that even legal?

Of course. You just shouldn't use it in some states. But you can
use it in many states. Plus, bringing that in alone isn't illegal.

Small for walleyes. But big for smelts, crappies, and even more smelts.
