It does remind me of the Beckham era in L.A. decades ago...

Looks like Soccer is still not very popular in the states so folks at MLS and the likes probably hope Messi can add some juice to it and/or jump start it.  ???

It’s very popular but it helps to bring in big superstars. We have had quite a few in the last row decades.

He's probably concern about viewership in the U.S. compared to what he's used to in Europe and South America as even the U.S. girl's team has more viewers than the men's team the last time I checked... ??? ;D

Few big names has already been successful here. Nothing new.

Big names like Benzema and Neymar are heading to SA to join Ronaldo.
