Hybrid ship in Scotland currently runs on diesel only...
« on: February 06, 2024, 08:35:28 AM »
A hybrid electric ferry (MV Hallaig) hailed by Nicola Sturgeon as Scotland's new climate change friendly ferry. She described it as a symbol of what Scotland's government is striving to do to combat climate change. It was the first hybrid system put on a ferry to cut carbon emission by 20% when it was launched in 2012. However, the battery failed and it would take up to 18 months to get it repair plus costly since the battery is no longer available. Now, it runs entirely on diesel...  :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
