The last we hosted the World Cup was back in 1994. And the winner of that final in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena stadium was Brazil.

I heard that it may be at the 49ers stadium here in the bay area

Which means, I better buy my tickets Early.

The final will be played in the MetLife stadium. Here are the cities that will be hosting the games. A total of 60 games will be played in the USA.
