General Discussion / Re: Got lucky

Nice! Cowhide is the best for fried garlic pepper. I'm convinced that rice, alcohol, processed foods, and the lack of exercise is far worst for us than cowhide fried garlic pepper. I agree that physique has nothing to do with our health. I know skinny ass dudes who are diabetic and so forth. I also know fat dudes who are perfectly fine, aside from their weight. Genetics has a lot to do with our health. It's interesting how we think death is bad. It isn't. So long as they enjoyed their lives, that's what matters. Who are we to say?

We know you like your food fresh like that rotten carp. Vacuum sealed meat(s) lasts forever and tastes as fresh as the day you bought it.  :idiot2: When (not if) our recession/depression gets worse you'll wish you had an ice chest filled with frozen meat(s). I suppose this planet needs to reduce its population by a few. Thanks buddy for volunteering!  O0

I don't have my face tied to my phone or laptop that much to warrant one of those. Night charge will last me all day...

;D Apparently he needs it because he is on PebHmong 24/7 to monitor and respond to the likes of HmongRock at a moment's notice. He needs his power source readily available.  :idiot2:

You'll get fired soon rather than later. Custodial work/facility management is not the lazy! :idiot2:

Aren't you the self proclaimed fish whisper? Shouldn't you know? :2funny:

When I buy new, I only deal with them internet managers and we just email back and forth.  I take one guy's quote and give it to another dealership.  Whoever can bet that price will earn my business.  These days, we have the internet so we can look up the msrp and the invoice pricing and what others are paying for it.  Plus you got the email with pricing as proof so you bring that with you to the dealership.  You now have leverage.  Once there, you act like you are a new customer and you talk to a sales guy.  Lets say the email says $50k.  You BS with the sale's guy to try to get it lower than $50k.  If he can do it, you got a better deal.  If he can not do it, just bust out that email and say you are here to talk to the internet manager.  Once the sale's guy sees your email, he's done trying to con you.  He will turn you over to the internet manager and he will collect half of the commission check.  The top sales person on the floor is the internet manager so you better deal with them to get the best price.  They are more interest in quantity over quality.  He gets all of his clients through lease and from the internet inquires so you will never see him on the sale's floor.  He doesn't need to.  He's a manager in title so he can get that pricing for you.  The sale's guy has to beg them fleet managers to give you them prices.  So why should you deal with a sale's guy for?  The internet manager is how it is done.   O0

That's too much work. With the supply chain issue we are facing, I don't care to negotiate. As long as I can afford it, I don't care. What I wear, eat, drink, drive and live in, as long as I loke it and can afford it, I don't care about the cost.

Not to mention kayaks, belly boats, and motorcycles that won't allow me to park my vehicles in the garage anymore. Firearms galore. I only own Benelli shotguns and a trailer load of duck and geese decoys that is parked at a brother in law's driveway.

When we younger, we think differently.  I get the whole idea of going cheap to save a penny or two and be frugal for retirement but all that is a school of thought that I have no idea where I gotten it from.

Then when you get older, you look around you.  You see people dying and you look at your age and you know that you are getting closer to death.  That whole frugal mentality is and should be slowly fades away.  The new model is to live your life and don't cut yourself short out of it. The old me would even look at the gf or wife funny, had she not get an item at the very best deal or if she gotten a bad deal.  The new me is very much alive and if you like it, buy it.  It is that simple.  We can talk about buyer's remorse but that is just all talk for fun only but once you buy something, don't even look around to compare prices or even think about the notion of whether you got the best deal or not.  It is done, it is over and enjoy what you got.  Make more money to buy more stuff.  Do this until you die and die knowing that you spoiled yourself.   O0

That's why I said I don't feel like I got scammed. Hopefully that young salesman got a good commission off of my overpayment. I make too much to not worry about money. Shit, I'm your typical Hmong and I don't know how many Stellas reels I have collecting dust. Boat and travel trailer over 100k combined that I've only used once or twice since purchased.

Life is more than not buying or trying.

We live in decades.  I would like to see that I drive a brand new vehicle every 10 years.  So according to my science, I have 3 more vehicles to drive before I retire.  I'm not going to waste it on a used vehicle and call it a life.  If I can't afford it then sure I get it but if I can, I'm going to do it and those 3 next one will all be brand new and call it a good life.   O0

You can just die tomorrow and call it a life.  The older you get, the closer to your expiration date and if you know this, you will realize it.  Enjoy yourself before you die is the message.   O0

Agreed. I want the nicest things my money will allow me to get. I might get the 400z next!

You are not the only hmong.  My best hmong bud and his father buys tundras like you.  His father has 2 thundras, one was a gift for his retirement and his kids all pitched in and bought him that.  He also has a 4 runner, Honda accord.  Now if you have 4 vehicles, one or all 3 will get neglected.  It doesn't get much air time so it is just sitting there while you pay the tag and insurance and mortgage on it.

Now his son is the same chit.  He got a beater that he commutes to work and a brand new TRD pro sitting in his garage.  You want to know how many time I have sat in his TRD pro?  maybe 3 times and that is about how much times he takes it out on a fishing trip with me.

I don't get attach to materialistic things.  I have learned the value at a younger age.  I go by the rule "either use it or lose it" and it is true for me.  Like when I was younger, in college, my vehicle has AC.  I never use it on myself or the homies but with driving a female, yes i will use it.  It too doesn't get much air time because dating women was hard to come by for me so eventually, the air compressor dies out and there goes my AC.

Lesson here is to use it and enjoy it while it is still there.  Everything gets old so there is no need to babysit it like it is still brand new.  By next year, the new model comes out and your baby is now a has been.  I'd be pissed, paying for a vehicle and not driving it.  You buy it to drive, not park and look at it.  Makes no cot dayam sense to me.

Valid points. I'm not attached to materialistic things either. This coming weekend I want to see how much CarMax will give me for it.

Think about it bra.  Unless you get big time discount because that is the only one left then sure but what is that you are paying?  You are not buying a candy bar here.   You paying big money and to rob you of your rights to get the color of your wants when you are paying big bucks for a vehicle?  You got scam by sale's guy.  I know because I used to sell cars for a living when I was in college.  It is a part of the trick of car sales that we all had to learn.  Tell you everything you need to know and robbing your rights to complain about it is the golden ticket.  We steer the conversation not you.   Buyer remorse happens at home.  The moment you drive off that lot and come back, sure I'll give you your color but your vehicle just depreciated in value.  I'll have to write you up as a used trade in value.   O0

I paid over MSRP but I don't feel like I got scammed. In fact when I sell it, I'm going to get more than what I paid for it. Man, the smell of a brand new vehicle smells sOoo good!

and make the monthly payment of 1K/month in my case just to only drive your beater around?  I do! I'm hoping to get more than I paid for it in the next couple of months. :2funny:
