Interviewing and Hiring:

I like giving my Hmong peeps the opportunity to work with me.  There has been mixed results.  Well it just seem that the ratio of bad eggs hatching faster than good ones.

So my boss hired one Hmong guy and two Hmong girls.  Young teenagers age 16-18 yrs.  Turns out this guy at first was making complaints behind my back.  Then he eventually sack one of the Hmong girls and quits the job.  The Hmong girl in the end told me about his jealousy of me before she ended up quitting too.  I felt bad for her, but your choice dating is yours.  Not my problem beyond the work place.

First of all, I'm old enough to be your parent.  Second of all, I'm your superior.  Third, why am I always the subject of "You People's" sexual tension?

This is the work place...not your J4 playground.

Have I been so out of the loop?  Is today's society trying to mimic what people see/watch in teevee and whatever social media reality entertainment show?

That just reminded me how back when I was a young new hiree and people were talking about these soap-opera television shows at work.

LOL...I am at age that when I was a young buck...I thought my uncles and other older guys were...Dirty Old Men.  Or so they claimed.

The way they talk about the opposite sex and all and how many scores they've had.

What's even more equally is how the aunties or older lady talk...How I hooked and caught that guy and kept him in tow.     He was pussy whooped!  They talked as if they were Skanky Old Women.  Or so they claimed.

Why do these marriages work?  Perhaps they've got nothing to hide.  All the good and bad was open door and everyone sort of knew and kept them in tow.  Most of all was probably each person wanted to still be a parent to their children and stuck with it.  Hence they were willing to contribute to the overall good of being a family.

Now the ones that were like "perfect" somehow always had the marital argument behind closed doors...yeah but loud enough that people could hear from across the parking lot.  You get the vibe that they were unhappy about something.  Each person wanted something selfish for themselves.  Their stubborn and unwillingness personality overshadowed what their family roles and responsibiliti es should have entail.

In a sense I think it was the grandpas and grandmas at the time who always gives good advice due to their life long accumulation of experiences and exposure to other's experiences.  It was always in a light-hearted humor fashion.  I miss my grandpas and grandmas even though they've all passed away.

Well I ain't no official grandpa or grandma yet, but I am at that age where the uncles and aunties at that times were like so.

Just feeling nostalgic about some old time memories that surfaced.  The time to talk about the birds and bees to the kids is coming...

It's not that I need a new fishing pole...I just decided to treat myself to one.

I have been a St. Croix rod fanboy for a while, but I've decided to spread out into the Shimano rods some.  I just went to Joe's Sporting Goods and as usual their selection of rods are sort of dismal.  However they did have one rod that I've been sort of wanting for a while.  7' ML in baitcasting rod Shimano Zodias.

Originally I was contemplating about the St. Croix Legend Tournament in 6'10" ML casting rod retailing just shy of $300.  Compared to Shimano Zodias 7' ML coming in at $200 retail.  The Shimano rod is a bit softer compared to the St. Croix.  There was a Diawa rod Chronos 7' ML but it was significantly stiffer in flex compared to the Shimano Zodias.  Although the Diawa was cheaper in at $169 Joe's retail, the handle component was also drastically cheaper in quality when compared side by side to the Shimano Zodias.

I also played with some of the Shimano Conquest rods, but at #%@#  $600 ouch pearls.

The 7' ML Shimiano Zodias came home with me.  Now I just need to pair it with a reel.

As always, there's only so much lures in similarity.  It's just that, that similarity but yet subtle difference that makes it look all sparkly like jewelry that you have to try.

Anime | Manga / Hina Festival

Of all the anime, this one is a must watch.  In simplicity about doing what's right and just realizing things that people do are just wrong and what it takes to make it right.  On top of it all, a tear jerker scene and even an ultimate clash...most of all, best as a parenting hand guide in a comical way.    Even the title is misleading.

Dear Dr. PebHmong / Assessment performance reviews

What I always wonder about?  Even if it's an honest assessment given by either a colleague or from a supervisor.

I was told I was impatient.

That stuck out weird, because, patience is actually one of my strengths.  Was it assessed in the wrong scenario or what?

I get if compared to how I work, yes, I'm a beast, superhuman skill. 

I get that there's always two sides to each and everything.  The glass half full or half empty perspective.

As described by two different customers.  One says, it's like he's putting a high speed show on like only what you see on tv.  Another just says, he's throwing things around sloppy and it happens to land right.

So when my patience runs out...after giving an employee like two dozen chances to fix said problem and trying various methods of training over the past several months.  Yes, company standards, standard training etc.,..to simplified steps, written cards, post it, children rhymes, etc.,...I'm told I'm impatient because I said, "I don't know what else to do because I'm out of ideas.  I would like you to come up with a solution." yes, even empowering said individual to take accountability for themselves.

Should I just give up early?  Accept that people just can't learn or just refuse to learn.

and then this comes back.

"I can't learn because of his training methods...."

Um you watched the training video, everything was taught according to company standards - training video...

"It's because you were impatient..."

It's a one minute lesson...peopl e do it in one minute and become expert in one minute...it's taken said employee three months and not able to master this...after three months and I have the quality of being impatient.  None of these observers, were here for the past three months...

I need to work on being more stupid like everybody else...that's what my performance review tells me.  I was too stupid to play that.

Tell me I'm stupid...

Yes testing this Foot Angel.  It looks like compression toeless sock.  Worn it for about six hours.  Yes compression toeless sock.  Well my feet wasn't sore or achy on my day off, so I didn't find any advantage to it, but great for the flip flops as a toeless sock.

Now I've got other tight socks that are compression like and does about the same job.

To be honest, I think being toeless will just make the foot angel sock ride up.  I did not wear it in any shoes or boots, but maybe a test for another time.

So this year with the avian flu killing off the turkey farms.  I also noticed a lack of squirrels and rabbits in my yard.  Apparently there were quite a few dead carcasses of squirrels in the backyard just below their nesting tree.

Now I don't know if these are related or the neighbors set out poisons killing off the rodents.  Typically there are black crows about as well, but they all seemed to have vanished as well.
 
For one thing the wild turkey are still alive.  Two hens with their brood.

Saw a  big snapper turtle on my street just as I pulled out of the driveway.
