People are ignorant because they do not know anything about you.

Florida will become a good place for Asian after they study about us.

General Discussion / Have you seen a trillion dollar coin?
« on: May 03, 2023, 06:47:41 PM »
treasury secretary Yellen said that the USA will be out of money to pay its debt.  A solution is to print a trillion dollar coin as a place holder.  Wouldn't that dilute the USA dollar if a trillion more dollars are added to the current circulation?

A $1 trillion platinum coin could save the US from economic catastrophe in less than a month. It would be fast, legal, and no bigger than a regular coin.

Side hug leads to sexual assault by Clovis East High School teacher, student testifies

A well-known teacher at Clovis East High School will face a jury trial on charges he inappropriatel y touched a student while in his classroom, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Judge Michael Idiart found there was enough evidence presented during the preliminary hearing to proceed with the case against Kenneth Kong Lee, a Hmong language teacher.

Lee, who is currently on leave from his job, is facing one felony count of lewd act upon a child, age 14 or 15, and a misdemeanor count of annoying, molesting any child under 18 years old.

If convicted, Lee would have to register as a sex offender and would be barred from teaching, an occupation he’s had for more than 20 years, said one of his attorneys Kathy Bird.

Bird along with co-counsel Margarita Martinez-Baly were joined in the courtroom by nearly 40 supporters, including several students.

The alleged victim, who is now 20 years old, accused Lee of touching her inappropriatel y on her butt and her breasts. The former student was in Lee’s Hmong language class as a freshman in the fall of 2018.

She testified that Lee groped her at least 10 times during her freshman and sophomore years, and all while in his classroom and with students present.

“He would do this side hug and then he would put his hands on my back and slide it to the middle of my butt,” she testified.

Kristin S. Maxwell, senior deputy district attorney, asked the former student how the inappropriate touching made her feel.

“It made me feel uncomfortable,” she said. “A teacher should not be doing that to a student.”

The former student also alleges Lee touched her breasts. She said she was at his desk when he surprised her with a hug. As they stood face to face, he used both hands to touch her shoulders. His right arm then slid onto her chest and he pinched her breast, she testified.

Maxwell asked her why she hugged him back.

“I didn’t want to be disrespectful in any way,” she said.

Under cross examination by Martinez-Baly, the former student admitted that no one in the classroom saw Lee touch her inappropriatel y. She also misspoke when talking with a Clovis police officer about the alleged assault. At first she said she was wearing two jackets over a long-sleeved shirt when Lee allegedly pinched her breast, but later said she remembers taking off one of the jackets.

Bird also questioned the police officer about whether she interviewed any of the students in the class where the alleged assault took place or anyone else who might have seen something. The officer said she did not interview any of the students in Lee’s class, who might have corroborated the former student’s story.

Lee’s next court appearance is May 11 for a held to answer arraignment in Dept. 31.

This is what his grandson had to say about this old man.

"Ludwig said he and his grandfather, who goes by the first name Dan, used to be very close.

“But in the last five or six years or so, I feel like we’ve lost touch,” he said. “I’ve gotten older and gained my own political views, and he’s become staunchly right-wing, further down the right-wing rabbit hole as far as doing the election-denying conspiracy stuff and COVID conspiracies and disinformation, fully buying into the Fox News, OAN kind of line. I feel like it’s really further radicalized him in a lot of ways.”"

I dunno.  If old people can't even drive a car because they gotten older, they shouldn't own a gun.

General Discussion / Don't forget to file your tax
« on: April 17, 2023, 03:08:16 PM »
Tomorrow is last day to file.  You can get an extension to file but you have tomorrow to pay up if you owe your uncle his money.

Like last minute shopper, I feel good to get it over with.  With these raises to catch up with inflation, some people will jump to a different tax bracket and so they will tax you more.  There are tricks on how they can tax you less or nothing at all if you do it right. Park your money in your 401k, IRA, roth, charity if cash, up to 60% of your income  :o

Other ways as well.  If you single, no kids and they tax you like crazy, file head of household and start claiming your old folks who don't need to file tax if they are on fixed income or non taxable income.  Standard deduction for single is $13K.  If head of household, claim you are paying your dependent more than 50% in expense and your deduction will now be $20k around there.  A big $7K bump helps out a lot.

Where our poor man non-certified online CPA hmoobrock at?  Show us how you cheat tax.   :2funny:

History may need to repeat itself.

If we think back in the old days, the days when we were still refugee, what happened to the interest rates of America in the early 1980s?  People were buying houses at 20% interest rate and they were not complaining as how we are right now.  They were only making $3 an hour or something like that but yet, they were able to afford a house because housing was cheap.  Even if they make $3 an hour, if they save up 5 years worth, they can cash out on a house.  These days, you make more money but you have to go long term like 25 years to pay off your house.  Some people can afford $2,500 rent but yet the bank does not qualify them for a $1,700 mortgage.  Does this make any sense to you?

Now lets talk more about interest rate.   What happened when interest rate is high back in the early days of our parents and the wave of refugees?  The doors of America opens up and immigrants like your parents be coming on over.  They worked odd jobs which creates more goods and with more goods and demands, things became cheaper to buy.  With more people in America, more demand for goods and lower prices so the economy be thriving at the right pace.   Interest rates fell and inflation is on a steady.

You know that if it was up to the Democrat, more refugee will come into the America right now to help out with the job market and to help lower the interest rate.  More people working = booming economy.  However, the people or shall I say, the Republicans are not having it.  These days, they put a cap on how many immigrants can come to the usa and you see that war in Ukraine?  There goes the democrat answer for new immigrants to help his agenda.  You want lower interest rate and a booming economy?  Bring more immigrants so they can work the jobs of them privilege Americans that doesn't want to work.  The great Resignation anyone?

Something to think about  O0

So this florida professor said something about if kaydoo people are more like asian, there wouldn't be black and white racism that we see today.  He has a point though but he still got fired.  They reinstated him and now he's suing the university.

It is tough being an educator.  You just have to watch your tongue and try your best to be neutral or atheist these days.
