Title: The Video Thread
Post by: Boost on January 29, 2011, 10:10:00 AM
Thought I'd make a video thread so we can post cool, nice, professional videos that we find online to share.  I really don't want this to turn into a video battle showing which car is faster than another UNLESS ITS YOUR OWN CAR!  Please be curtious & open minded to all types, makes & models of vehicles.  Thanks & lets get them vids up!

I like this video. C4 Corvette (1984 - 1996) vs. 1973 Toyota Corolla with turbocharged rotary motor. I love the annoucer at the beginning of the video making fun of the ancient Corolla but at the end the Corolla isn't only very clean looking but also very stink'n quick as well.  O0

Not to bust your balls but you went against your words and posted videos of cars racing each other.  That is exactly the same as showing which car is faster than another... am I wrong  ???

About 1:56 you can see the Corvette making a move and the Porsche responded by bumping the Corvette with its back end knocking the Vette into the sand. 2:07 you can hear the Vette driver (or someone) saying "That's not right...". 3:05 the Corvette pays him back by bumping Porsche back bumper but the dangerous thing is that the Porsche pushes the Corvette into the wall making the Vette lose it's balance.

Jorg, the driver of the Porsche, was the same driver lost 2 years earlier at Sebring reviewed in my second video. He's known as an aggressive driver and has been in many incidents like this before. The odd thing is that they still gave Jorg the win and the BOTH the Corvette and Porsche was penalized afterward.

In 1999, there was 50 limited edition of Zanardi NSX built to honor Alex Zanardi, basically a variant of the Japanese Type-S.  It was 149 lbs lighter and hardtop compare to the regular nsx-t.

The Porsche should not be allowed to race.  I can run that race if all I had to do was ram people off the track & cause accidents.  I wouldn't want to watch anything like that its too frustrating.  If cheaters can win then sh|t sign me up.. no skills needed here just an armored car.   O0  That was not enjoyable to watch at all.  I hope they've set new rules to prevent that from happening again.

I remember that.  O0

Alex Zanardi won two Indycar titles back to back and just dominated the Indycar Series in the late 90's. The person he passed in the video was one of my favorite racers (Bryan Herta) and Zanardi just haunted Herta throughout the race series.

Zanardi beats Herta at Long Beach in '98 on the last lap (2:54)  :2funny:

That was the last race of that season so even if they did suspend the Porsche driver it wouldn't have amounted to anything. Plus the Jorg, the Porsche driver, is a factory Porsche driver so he doesn't suck or doesn't know what he's doing. Jorg is actually one of the best but in GT, prototype, and even touring car racing - it can get really aggressive mostly if you're battling for a win. Banging tires and fenders isn't that unusual. This race just ended extra aggressive though.

Does Brainard have anything open to the public to test their cars?  I'm sure you'll have to go through tech inspection & all & I have no problem with that.  I wouldn't want a wheel falling off or paint the track with oil.  hahaha

There's lots of opportunities and you'd be surprised at how easy it is to pass tech as that responsibility is solely up to the owner.

Let me know if you'd like some help getting any of your cars sorted out before you start putting the hammer down. I'm involved with various clubs that run at low and high speed tracks. Don't worry I'm not in the business of abusing other people's cars. It will be nice to meet up and exchange some idea's with another brother.  PM me if you're interested and I can send you my calender for this season's events.  O0

They also call that twin charge. BTW driving on that road is like saying "hey everyone I've live in California and hollywood celeberties lives here too" which equal to NBGAF. Now having raced on that road is a different story. However I highly doubt that since we all know Hmong ricer only do straight lines and Hmong drifter only drive slow corners.

I don't think I've ever driven on that road but I race every day. When I wake up to brush my teeth to driving to work.  Besides people say I'm a slow street racer because I follow the speed limit all the time. However I don't think anyone I know beaten my record of 13 red lights in 10 minutes driving across a certain Central Valley City with a population of 500k.  Ever seen that crazy race from great teacher onizuka where u don't stop ever until ur destination?Let's just say I was actually dumb enough to try it.
