How many ft of water was tat..way too shallow to be trolling there, wouldn't you think?.

I've seen bass come real close to the edges of many lakes, so close I have to hide behind some shrubs to cast over to them.

Reporter - CPR only. I don't keep bass, only whitebass. lol.

fish4keep - Actually I tried to catch the ones in the bed pic but they didn't want anything to do with my senko. Didn't have much time so moved onto the next bed. lol. That was actually the closest bed to shore with active fish in it. The spawn is just starting here.

Come bass opening season, I take my limits of LMB. Plus any whitebass I can get. lol

Wow you guys eat Northern pikes?..i can't stand the smell..the after smell. Plus after you d- bone all those bones, there's so little meat left..O don't 4 get the cheeks..tat's the best part..anyways too much work for so little meat..

I like the bigger ones like the ones I have here. Those bones are no problems for me.

I have never noticed the cheeks. But now that you've mentioned that, I'll try them. Thanks. ;D

Hmong Stories / Re: Neej Neeb ONLY!

NO!  dab neeg is somewhat fictional, an event so surreal yet ghostly like.  neej neeb is non-fictional, must be a real "people" occurrence.

The Hmong have used the word dabneeg to mean both a folktale and a historical narration of a past real event.  How you spell your syllables--together, they refer to shaman life or shaman lifestyle or shaman fate only.

First of all, the use of neej neeb refers to shamanism life only. What you are demonstrating here is more of a dab neeg kind of thing.

Potato, I think they would have buried the baby alive if the parents had not gone back to have one more look.

Maybe this is why people often want to see their dead ones one last time? That includes the Hmong.

wouldn't that fall under stress. I use to raise fish in a tank, when you move the fish out N into another tank..the temp, water, you know what i mean. All those chem.you put in the fish tank..
Anyways the fish gets stress out..so the color changes.
If they're changing color within the hours, it's stress. The two smallies a page back is b/c of location.

Stress? I don't think so. We are talking about colors that change permanently, right? Not just something that changes for just a few hours and back. If it's stress, by the time you have pulled the fish out onto shores, the colors would be natural again?

Oh, I see. Didn't know that. Thanks.

1.  We don't get many small mouth here at all but I caught one on a funky bait and in the oddest of waters.  Try fast flowing currents of the Sacramento River.   My very first small mouth ever and I have been fishing the same area for decades.

now the lure which is just a hook.  Was targeting them American Shad but ended up catching this.  Go figures.
