Reporting back...I am still alive.

I went to White Bear Lake...close to home.

I was really testing out my Rigid Octane drill and wanted to see what all the hype is about using battery powered hand drills. Well it works. It worked a lot better than I thought. In fact I thought I lost my auger down the ice hole several times, but it was still all there.

Ice is about 10-12 inches. It should be safe for full sized trucks soon. But remember ice is never 100% safe.

Today is the day to go out ice fishing!!! where? White Bear, St. Croix, or Forest Lake!

I will be packing my stuff in the truck. Will be walking out on the ice, since I have no idea how thick ice is now.

I have a Wicked Ice rod in UL power. It's cheap like $20 when I bought it. Trying to get used to such short handle on a fishing rod.

Same thing about the St. Croix Mojo Ice rods...weird unique rod handle. Feels a little off because it's so different.
