General Discussion / Re: Hmong survival tactics during ICE surge

We are re-living the dysptopia...

At least you call it competition...

from my perspective it'a all about socialites.  The same high school lunch mentality that continues onto the work force world.

Everyone says they want to hire smart workers, but they will never hire someone smarter than they are.  Who wants to hire their future boss?

When I used to be a corporate office worker, there was this guy on the meat diet.  But then he drowned it all in BBQ sauce.

He could've just been drinking BBQ sauce.  :D

I had a dream that ICE arrested me and was gonna deport me to Scandanavia... :D

Something about me being too white...and didn't qualify for Southeast Asia countries.

I used to just put the tackle bag onto the rod handles in the truck bed.  It will hold it fairly secure and prevent bouncing around.  If just normal driving.

However, knowing how terrible other drivers are on the road.  Yeah when one has to swerve or slam brakes just avoid those types of other drivers.

I don't put the rods in the truck bed anymore.  It bounces and slides around, then the chances of damage is more likely to happen.  A long time ago, my Ugly Sticks goes in the truck bed.

The rods that have broken on me were that someone stepped on one.  Then somebody was too rough when removing the rods from trunk and snapped the upper portion of a rod.  Then once when a rod slid into the anchor tie of the boat and when I reach to lift it, it caught onto it and cracked right at the pressure point.  They were all kind of cheapo rods but those situations could also happen to the expensive rods too.

I've also removed lures from rods and tie down the sinkers with some straps/wraps.  Also hate how rods tangled together or a lure especially the hooks gets caught into something else like the upholstery on vehicles.

*******

Typical UL rods are often too flimsy for me.  BFS for bass fishing models are sort of different in that they're usually designed to have a backbone on the lower half section of the rod.  The new Zodias BFS rod is listing as an UL+ so it should be more powerful than a typical UL rod.

AI narrative fishing tips...

I've been watching a couple of AI generated fishing tips on Youtube.  Gotta love the wonderfully AI generated pictures.  Very crazy looking fishing reels and lures.  LOL.  Something like how a child would draw a picture without the full knowledge of how physics and mechanical functions works.

While most of the informative narrative is convincingly true, once in a while it gives a false or incorrect statement.  It's like a typo that is very easily overlooked.

Oh my...New Zodias BFS rod for 2026.

two released power and lengths.

6'8" Ultra Light+
7'1" Light

I definitely would consider the 6'8" Ultra Light+

In a way I'm kind of glad I did not get the just discontinued 7' Light BFS model - which barely even had one year released.  In part that rod had a 15" handle length of which I wouldn't want.  For whatever reason while fishing, that length just rubs contact onto my clothing or sleeves.  As experienced from other rods of those lengths.  Hopeing the newer one will be shorter.  As the information on it is not quite listed yet.

they say you are not supposed to
but like many other i still do use light soap and water

 ;D ;D ;D

many time i just use paper towel and hot water
and it comes right off

 O0 O0 O0

it’s really good man
wish i knewt about it YEARS ago

i waste soo much money on TEFLON NONSTICK COATING pan

probably ate a lot of chemicals scratches

 ;D ;D ;D

Well good job.  Don't ever wash pots and pans in soap.  Once you do that, it's ruined.

LMAO

don’t think that’s how it work
the carbon is melted inside the metal when they forged

you just got to “season” it

 O0 O0 O0

it becomes just as nonstick as them teflon with the nasty chemicals and coating

so you wash that in soap and water?

What did they put into the food?  Was more than Popeye's spinach for sure... :D

So the secret to carbon coating is just throw ash onto your steel pot.  Just save some good ash from your last BBQ camp fire cook out.  Of course it will take a little elbow grease to rub all the extra carbon ash off, but a little olive oil rub and Bounty paper towel and you're good to go.
