Title: Just picked up another bike.
Post by: Boost on October 23, 2013, 11:09:54 AM
Pretty stoked to have another bike again. Since I sold the R1 I've been itchin to buy another just to have for those "need to be free" & boring days.  So here she is.

Thanks "theking" I was deciding between a 05 ZX10r(all white and stretched), an 06 R1 with the Toce exhaust(Agusta look alike exhaust) or this bike.  I really just wanted something to tinker with or easy riding, but have loads of power when needed.  This CBR year was my fave with the slightly extended rear from factory for stability.  Ordering frame sliders and striping fairing off to have it painted white soon here.

I'm happy to be back though.   O0

I just picked another one up too shortly after buying the raven 2months ago. Pic of that night of the raven on bed of truck was on the show your bike thread.

Pit stop while riding it back in the freezing cold rain night 300miles home

Why do you guys like extended swingarms on sportsbikes?  It's ugly and throws the whole geometry of the bike that manufacturers spent countless hours trying to perfect, off.

Easy answer: personal preference!!! Some like it bone stock, some like to add suspension bits, some like to add power, some like to change the color, and of course some like to stretch and slam their bikes...

I want to paint mine white also.  I won't be stretching it though.  From factory its a little stretched over the previous years.  I like to wheel just to be a little pass the rear seats.  Love the white on the R6.  One of my favorite 600cc.   O0

Some people stretch the bike cause they mainly use it for drag racing or just cruising.  Not everyone wants to be a racer, knee dragger or talk about how cool it is to get close to the asphalt face first.  Stretched or not I really don't mind either.  Then you have those that are really stretched out with big chrome rims and fat tires.  Those arent really my style, but I still appreciate the look.  To each their own I guess.

Its like autocrossers and drag racers at each others throats.   :2funny:

so is your girlfriend but you dont hear us complaining

Op, a paint job will run you around $300+ have you looked into buying a set of aftermarket fairings? Auctmarts/motofansclub/extremefairings sell fairing kits at a reasonable price, and they have cool paint schemes (or they can do a custom paint scheme to your liking). Think about it..... custom paint and you get to keep your OEM fairings incase something happens, just throwin' that thought out there for ya.

You know I thought about aftermarket fairings but my nephew bought a set of Triumph 675 fairings and it didn't fit quite right.  Some holes were off in some places.  I'll have to look more into it.  I tried googling or searching but no luck so far.  I'm pretty sure for 300 they wont paint wheels with would they?

My RR has a set of fairings from motofansclub and they fit like a glove...the paint on the other hand is another issue! An extra coat of clear coat would of been nice (if you buy a set be sure to request 2 coats).  Check out  1000RR.net for more info/pics about aftermarket fairings. Teh search button is your friend  O0

I'm assuming you're from MN? If you are there's a chick on a local sportbike forum who can paint your fairings/wheels. pm if you want more info
