Title: NFL and NFLPA on track to finalize a new CBA with 17-game schedule
Post by: ProudLao on November 14, 2019, 07:10:20 PM
As early as 2020. This will mean shorter pre-season and a possible 14 teams playoff format.

I am all for it.

Nay for me. It wouldn't means as much if almost half the entire league could make the playoffs in that format. Add a game and every team gets 2 bye weeks.

Just adding one more team from each conference, should be fun.

I'm only against it because the NFL doesn't reshuffle rankings in the playoffs. This year again we'd potentially be seeing a 9-7/10-6 team with a home game against a 13-3/12-4 visiting team. I'd hate to see an inferior team get an advantage just for being in a weak division ***cough***Dallas.

More games will be more possible injury.  Players playing overtime with no play is a no go for them.

Plus, how do you grade a player performance if they make record numbers?

Possibly all international schedules with the additional games. Global marketing.

8 home. 8 away. 1 neutral?

This. It's bs how some team play out of the country and it's considered one of their "home" games. Can you imagine NFL darlings like DAL and GB playing a home game out of the country?

It has been agreed today with both parties that 7 teams from each conference will make the playoffs. It could go in effect as early as 2020.

Also, only one bye team from each conference instead of the current 2 in the playoffs

Preseason is reduce to 3 games.

Season will become 17 games.

I wonder if the XFL has anything to do with this lol
