Supra's main competitor is the Z. The Supra is so good that it takes the GTR to even out match it. Supra is 60k and GTR now is over 100k. If you drive a GTR and GR Supra they arent even alike at all. The Supra is way more comfy and better for a daily. If you have an older GTR and the GR supra both on BPU they're pretty much head to head.

Must be getting old, but I prefer auto w/paddle shifters. Manuals are great if you want to drift or rally race or you need some fun from a 4 cylinder. Even the fastest manual shifting trannies are automatic-ish. I love that my S2000 is manual but I don't want my Supra to be manual. The 4 cylinder auto feel is just junk. The GTR would be slower if it were manual.

I had a 06 Ridge and it was good to me. I did all the things my relatives did with their Tundras except the payments.  ;D

Hyundai has a great design team. They always had cheap crappy quality though. If Hyundai brings up their quality to match its competitors then they might surpass Toyota. Toyota has more granny and grandpa styling.

I use both bluetooth modules(German Cars) and a plug in diagnostic tool(JDM Cars).

Anything with a tune technically isn't stock. This Supra with stock turbo and stock motor tuned is running 9s.

Family car and new Z is on my list.

Most Meka peeps like grey. Doesn't look dirty when covered in dirt and easy to quick wash it to look clean. Even on the forums I see a lot of different shades of grey on cars that people prefer. That stone looking color is getting popular too now along with non shiny matte colors.

Comparing a new 86 vs an 08 Porsche is not the same comparison.  An older guy would go for the 08 vs a younger blood who likes new things will go for the 86.

They were just comparing due to both vehicles being similar in price range. Personally for me, I would prefer a Cayman S and add some boost.  >:D

Brand new GR86 or used 08 Cayman? Which would you choose?

So 4 Civics? LOL

Hot Rod shows you see the same cars and imports you see the same cars. Domestics are usually a bunch of stock looking cars with straight pipes. Imports are either stance or the usual R-Rockets.

SEMA is the only event I have been that has wild unique cars.

Been trying to make it out to more track(road course) events. You get to see nice cars, and run if you feel like it. Prices are just going up too high to justify participating at the track.

Unless you plan to collect that car or bring it to car shows only? its not worth 2k+ a month. For sure it will not drive like a 2k+ monthly car.

Automotive Discussion / Re: It matters what you drive too...

I just built mine online and waited 4 months for it. When I went to go pick it up there was a crowd around the car. I rolled up in my 2001 Acura CL(all stock). They were like,"Who's car is this?"(About the new car) I said "mine" and they thought I was kidding. Came back out in a few and drove it off. LOL

93 for me is already a pain to run all the time. Around town where I know where they are is okay, but when I travel its a PITA. I wanted to run E30-E85, but thought about how much of a pain it is already for 93. I would still have to unlock DME and dyno tune for 4 maps(91-E85). No thanks. haha.. maybe when gas goes down a bit.

To each their own but no way here, stick over auto in a pure bred sports car every time because auto is boring in that type of car. Sure an auto tranny may be OK for a minivan, RV or station wagon but not for a pure bred sports car IMO ;D. Plus, as a driver, I feel more input and thrills driving a stick sports car and even off-roading on a 4x4 truck. Lots of folks are afraid to drive stick on those San Francisco hills but I actually prefer it because it takes more skills not to burn the clutch out and it's more thrilling compared to just shift to "D" and go.

I say the only area where auto might be over stick is heavy congested stop and go traffic in big cities like SF, NYC, etc., after a long day of work.. ???

I think I would prefer a stick in a mud truck too. Man, I'm unsure, cause you'd be riding that clutch. Yea, auto for me, cause I'm an old man now. I still have 2 other manual cars and I enjoy them, but not quite as much as I used to. They're both great for the road course, but not for drag racing.
