Unveiling the Grand Canyon Skywalk: What to know for an unforgettable experience

https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/experience/national-parks/2023/07/16/grand-canyon-skywalk-guide/70407060007/

If a hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon isn't your thing, try seeing it from a glass-bottom overlook instead. The Grand Canyon Skywalk offers the chance to see the canyon's western end from a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge that extends 70 feet over the canyon's rim. The view looks out over the canyon bottom 4,000 below. The Skywalk, at Grand Canyon West on the Hualapai Indian Reservation in northwestern Arizona, is a different experience from Grand Canyon National Park. In addition to the glass bridge, activities at Grand Canyon West include zip lining, rafting, helicopter tours and pontoon boat tours.

Tori Spelling Defends Staying in $100 a Night Hollywood Motel With Her Kids Amid Dean McDermott Split

Mama bear. Tori Spelling is defending staying in a $100 a night Hollywood motel with her five children amid her split from husband Dean McDermott.

“Are you a parent? You know you would do whatever you can for your kids, right?” the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum responded to a TMZ cameraman when asked about her living situation as she left a San Fernando Valley Target store on Monday, July 17.

When asked if she was "blindsided by the split, Tori proudly stated, "I've always looked better on my own."

The family had to vacate their home after toxic mold was discovered in May, which was severely affecting the health of Liam, 16, Stella, 15, Hattie, 11, Finn, 10, and Beau, 6, whom she shares with Dean. It's unclear where he is living at this time.

"We are seeking accommodations via a hotel, Airbnb, or Vrbo home until we can grasp what to do," Tori told her Instagram followers when informing them of the mold situation.

The motel is a far cry from the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, where Tori and Dean held Stella's 15th birthday party. She shared photos from the poolside bash featuring cake, cupcakes and plenty of swimming in photos posted to Instagram on June 15.

"Penthouse suite, cabanas, cakes, the works. Tbh it was hard to leave. Family time is the best time and @beverlyhilton you continue to always make us feel like true family. We love you!" she added.

Two days after the True Tori alum shared photos of the happy family gathered for their daughter's birthday, Dean announced via Instagram that the pair were splitting after 18 years of marriage.

“It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways, and start a new journey of our own,” he wrote in the caption, adding, “We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time.” Less than 24 hours later, he deleted the post.

Tori and Dean met and fell in love while filming the Lifetime original movie Mind Over Murder in 2005. At the time, she had been married to husband Charlie Shanian for one year. Tori divorced Charlie and wed the Canadian actor on May 7, 2006.

Black College DEI Director Sues School She Says Accused Her of Being a White Supremacist

"They literally marginalized me as an individual, and they shunned me and they worked really hard to push me out," says Dr. Tabia Lee.

A recently fired Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) director at a California community college is now suing the institution, accusing them of hindering her right to free speech after she believes she was targeted for not being the “right kind of Black person.”

Dr. Tabitha Lee, who is Black, was hired as a full-time DEI Director at De Anza Community College in Cupertino, California, in August 2021. She was fired from her position back in March 2023 “because of De Anza and the District’s ideological opposition to Dr. Lee’s humanism in the classroom,” her complaint states.

According to Inside Higher Ed, Lee says she lost her job because she “questioned antiracist “orthodoxy,” objected to the college’s land acknowledgment s for an Indigenous tribe, tried to bring a “Jewish inclusion” event to campus, declined to join a “socialist network,” refused to use the gender-neutral terms “Latinx” and “Filipinx,” inquired why the word “Black” was capitalized but not “white,” and allegedly disrespected a founder of the Black Lives Matter movement.” And while free speech gives her the right to question all of those things, it probably should have been the first clue that she wasn’t really on board with De Anza’s idea of DEI.

In an interview with Fox News’ Harris Faulkner, Lee said her approach is to bring people together and encourage critical thinking. But Lee said encouraging the students to think for themselves made her a target for not going along with the campus orthodoxy which she described as “excessively woke.”

Dr. Lee’s July 10 lawsuit filed against the college alleges she encountered a hostile work environment at De Anza, where she was accused of not being the “right kind of Black person.” She says she was accused of “whitesplaining” and being a white supremacist.

Read more from Dr. Lee’s complaint:

“She happens to be Black, but first and foremost, Dr. Lee is a teacher dedicated to humanism and civil rights. She teaches that people should not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. De Anza is hostile to this concept.” It says Lee’s thinking was opposed to “unchangeable attributes ascribed by characteristic s of race and gender beloved by De Anza’s race and gender ideologues.”

“These are people who should definitely know better,” Lee said in an interview with Newsweek. “And the way that they behaved was what they claim other people do to marginalized people. They literally marginalized me as an individual, and they shunned me and they worked really hard to push me out.”

This dad's facial expressions while his partner gives birth are priceless

“I was just looking at her head! It went from being baseball size to a freaking cantaloupe."

An Arkansas dad delivered some hilarious facial expressions as he watched his partner give birth.

In a now-viral viral Facebook post, Brett Sills, a father of three, appears horrified when he looks down and sees his daughter’s head emerging. Once the baby is out, a grimacing Sills stands there frozen, as if he can't believe what he just witnessed.

“Dawg face is priceless,” one person wrote in the comments. Added another, “He looks terrified and grossed out at the same time.”

California motor home 'plows' into 19 vehicle on interstate: Police

An unruly motor home plowed into 19 cars in slow-moving traffic on a busy California interstate, California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed with Fox News Digital.

CHP officer Robert Purl told Fox News Digital that on Monday at approximately 6:04 p.m., officers received a call that a white motor home crashed into multiple vehicle on I-580 eastbound in northern California.

Alan Wang captured the devastating aftermath of the multi-vehicle pile up after the RV “plowed” through the bumper-to-bumper traffic.

“It was bumper to bumper, and he was just plowing through everyone and just kept on going down the road, smashing into cars,” Wang can be heard saying in his video.

Wang captured the chaotic scene after the RV plowed into the 19 vehicles.

One car is seen on it’s side while others are seen with cracked bumpers.

“A guy in an older model RV came smashing by and hit me,” Wang said. “Smashed into everybody.”

“I don’t even know where he is now,” Wang said in the video.

After wreaking havoc, the RV sped off with CHP officer’s quickly on it’s tail.

CHP said a Dublin, California patrol officer saw the white motor home, going 35 mph and passing cars on the right shoulder.

He observed the reckless driver crash into another vehicle on the off-ramp and continue on, despite crashing into another vehicle.

The CHP officer initiated a traffic stop on the RV, but it did not yield, Purl said.

The officer chased the RV down an off-ramp to a road with light traffic. The RV became disabled, and a stand-off ensued.

About 18 minutes later, the suspect self-surrendered, and was taken into custody, police said.

Tiger Woods’ Ex-Girlfriend Erica Herman Drops $30 Million Lawsuit Claiming He Violated Their Tenancy Agreement

Tiger Woods’ ex-girlfriend dropped her lawsuit seeking $30 million in damages from the golf star’s estate for ousting her from his Florida mansion, court documents obtained by The Post show.

Erica Herman, 39, dismissed the blockbuster case pending the result of her latest appeal of a judge’s order to throw out a separate lawsuit she filed to nullify a 2017 non-disclosure agreement she signed with Woods, 47.

That case remains pending.

She first filed the suit against Wood’s estate in the fall of 2022 as a complaint alleging he violated the Landlord Tenant Act by tricking her into vacating his Jupiter Island mansion when they broke up.

Herman claimed that she and Woods had an “oral tenancy agreement” giving her the right to live at the house and that she had five years remaining on that agreement when they broke up.

A hearing in the case was scheduled for August, but a court document filed on June 29 announced it had been canceled due to Herman’s dismissal of the suit.
