I think he is too optimistic. Even if the vaccine is ready by then we won't know if it's effective. At best it may just be like the yearly flu vaccine. That's nothing to celebrate about if people can still die from it. What I want too see and expect from him is to stop kissing Trump's @ss do his job. Should not be fearful of stripping away from his position.

I'll support him because America is already so screwed. It's time for us Americans to reap what we'd sowed(of course, many are not but the Rightist are); we're in the same boat. We have to feel PAIN economically to make a Better America. I'm doing this to rebell against the Democratic party; I hate how the party cherry picks candidates.

General Discussion / Re: Hmong with COVID-19
« on: March 23, 2020, 04:33:35 PM »
It's frustrating to be cooped up at home and not being able to get tested. I don't know if I have it but for sure I might just have the common flu/cold. Don't even have coughs but running nose, some body ache, and sometimes hot and cold flashes. I wish our state would just issue a state wide lock down. It makes more sense to stop all non essential activities then letting people risk spreading the virus for longer than need be.

Just because of Corona Virus? I guess some people are opportunists and will find ways to make the most of situation.

Can't blame the guy. You'll have to pinned on HR or management. This happens a lot and the people that needs to go are the one's hiring the kind of individuals that are not up to job.

At least you all id looks better. I just applied for enhanced id this feb. and still haven't receive it. I hope those of you in other states aren't having trouble like us folks here in MN. It's just damn ridiculous after spending millions of dollars overhauling the old system.

That is one subject all these candidates running for Presidency can't address or fix. It's damn ridiculous when it comes to cost of treatment. Better fly out of the USA for treatments else where.

General Discussion / Re: Is Coronavirus REALLY DEADLY?
« on: March 03, 2020, 04:57:06 PM »
It's some what deadly for now because we'd zero exposure to it. Like influenza first showed up, millions of people world wide die from it. If this Corona virus gets out of control, it could very likely cause millions of deaths also.

What can you say? It's hard to believe that it still happens. In those parts of the world, people are still very uneducated and will do harm onto others that are different.

I think we don't need to look that far, even in our own backyards we still have hate groups in this country.

Yeh. That's how the administration puts it. I just hope that by summer, it can be stopped like the avian flu. If not and becomes like influenza, we're in big trouble...

Computer & Technology / Re: Machine Learning is Hard
« on: November 08, 2019, 09:13:26 PM »
Machine learning would be much easier if you could remember how you develop as baby, how you become conscious of your surroundings and etc. It's definitely much harder to program a program that learns human behavior through inputs of key strokes, text, or voice data.

I'm not a programmer by trade but have try many programming languages and they all have their limitations. You can never get them to do the things you want them to do. Nest with in nests, loops within loops, and etc... It's just not clear cut like how we humans formulate ideas or solutions. But I believe that when machines do have the kind of sensory we humans do, our machine learning programs will be effective and may even surpass gift of intelligence.

Money & Investment / Re: $0 fees for trading stocks with the big players
« on: November 08, 2019, 08:58:21 PM »
Regardless of $0 fees, I still don't have money to play with the stock market. I'm just a old communist. :2funny:

The rule still applies. For you to gain, someone else has to lose. You could very well be the loser too.

Only preference is that she not look like man.lol Short hair like a man is a no-no, I will say it since no guys in here are bold enough. For my woman to have short hair, I definitely will see her as poj ruam. I just can't stand it...

My bil owes us a little over 5k and it is time to pay up.

I'm kind of in the same situation and even had written out the loan in letter even stated clearly that it need to be paid back but so far it has been almost 2yrs now and the person hasn't even bother to. Like you, now the situation makes me a bad person for wanting to the person to pay back. If you don't lend people money, you're automatically a bad and stingy person, when you do, this is how it usually turns out.

Now, I'm thinking about pretending to be in a needy situation and will just ask to see if the person has enough to pay back. Money doesn't grow on trees, every dollar counts. But in your situation, it is kind of hard being your family at most is above middle class. Acting needy would really look bad. Best to just make up excuse that you could use the money for you kids school expenses and etc... and see if he will comply. It's really hard to trust people these days. They just all seem to lose their ways... If it isn't emergency. I'm not helping anymore.
