I am excited this season, lets see if our defense has improve and how far can Matt Flynn carry us.
I will not make any predictions at the moment, lets see how the first five games goes ;D

Broncos will take the West. Wide open race for 2nd place. I think your team will end up between 6-8 wins. O0 If they end up 8-8 or 9-7, they have a real good chance of making the playoff. I think a lot of the AFC teams will end up around .500.

I don't know about that. On paper and last year's records yes they are. I believe KC and Raiders have a shot if they can plug the needed holes from last year. SD is one year from rebuilding, they have already started with the coach. Peyton goes out and we are to the top ;D

After two pre season games. I am still unsure which QB I like better. I don't mind if Pryor gets his chance this year.

I don't like this decision by Pryor switching jersey number. The curse of #2. I know it's his number from college day. Oakland have a record of 7-26 combined with Russell and Brooks.

Ok, so pre-season is now done with. I watched previews and since Pryor struggles last night I believe the Raiders will name Flynn their starter next week. We traded for him, might as well give him the chance. If he sucks, then we know what we have with Pryor.
I am excited.

At this point I don't care who will start, I am more concern about getting the opener win against the colts. And the only way to win is through ground and pound. McFadden got get over 100+ if not we will be 0-1

I feel for Flynn. Same scenario happened again for him. But I have to agree with the coach's decision on this one. Pryor just gives us the edge with his mobility.

Despite the loss, we played well. Pryor will learned from that mistake and get better. He looks good, minus that last two plays where he should thrown the ball out of bound and the int. GGGRRR DAMN IT.

We had the worst luck in finding a future QB. TP2 isn't bad but am not sure if he's the future either. We have had countless since the departure of Rich Gannon. And with Flynn is all due to GM. That was a bad decision, I didn't like him much when he fired Hue Jackson. We were 8-8 two years in a row with him and on the rise. Now, I don't know man. I am frustrated. I should just quit watching football all together ;D

Yep, hopefully soon. Besides free agency, no more first pick like J Russell either. Russell was probably as big of a bust as Ryan was for the Chargers.

If Pryor keeps having issue with his knee/leg ailment, he may not secured his starting job. McGroin isn't so bad. And the Raiders just signed Tyler Wilson to active roster. Maybe his injuries is worse than reported.
Even with the impressive win over Texans, I am still already disappointed with this season. We just can't seem to break that barrier.

After yesterday's loss the season is now over for my Raiders. I am looking forward to see what QB Matt McGroin can do for the Raiders in the future. I like him!

Currently sitting in the 4th spot for the draft. We could land Johnny Manziel or Blake Bortles. Pryor and McGloin did well, but we need the future franchise QB.
We have a good OC, Just need a good QB.

Trent Edwards signed with the Raiders. Could Pryor be on his way out soon? I have a feeling Matt will start, Edwards the backup and last year's draft would be a third option with the hope in getting a good QB in the fifth draft in April.

After 2013 it appear the two QB we have fighting for their job is only as good as an NFL backup. With the 5th overall draft, Oakland have got to select Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles, or Johnny Manziel. It's been a struggle in finding a franchise QB. Lets get it right.

It's gonna be very interesting to see which top five players will fall to the Raiders, I would prefer a qb and wr. In my opinion, that would be places to build upon.

Schaub struggles vs the Lions but it's probably the voice behind him with Carr looking like he can take over any day, Carr is not NFL read but I will assume if Schaub continues like 2013 Carr will be our QB come October. I like our D line a lot.

It's clear why we got Schaub, but he seems to be struggling. I sure hope he shapes up, I would love nothing more than to get a win over the Jets.

Raiders cut Schaub,MJD, Woodley, and Branch. Now we got good cap money $55 mill. to spend on players like Ndamukong Suh, Randall Cobb, Julius Thomas, Marshawn Lynch, Adrian Peterson, Michael Crabtree and Jeremy Maclin.
For sure we need to draft well, starting with Amari Cooper.

I think the NFL is more fun when the Raiders are in contention, but I don't see them doing well this year. Maybe 8-8 if they do well. But hey, anything can happen. There is often one team that exceeds expectations, and Raiders might be it.
My only problem with the Raiders is that they cheat. Al Davis going around telling players to cheat. He put up a sign telling players to cheat. They used Stickem. Steroids. Whatever. I can't root for cheaters. :2funny:

I was stunned when we had 10 points lead, was thinking can this be real comparing to last week. Then when they took the lead 36-33 with less than three minutes to go I was like, damn, it's over. Another week with disappointment . But when they committed to fouls and we scored I was like H_ _ L YEAH! ;D

Beat the Steelers.. There's a guy in my class that keeps (for some reason) bragging about the steelers being one of the best franchises of all time.
I hope my Raiders beat the Steelers. As far as "the steelers being one of the best franchises of all time", he's not far off as they are in the top five in just about every all time ranking I've seen along with the Packers, Cowboys, 49ers, and now Patriots. Along with championships, they also have a huge following.

Yes, it's a possibility that we could end up with a 9-7 record and take the wild card spot. But to be honest, it's still early. I want to believe so bad though.

I'd be okay with him bragging if the steelers were doing good this year. It's kind of like my other friends who can only talk about the glory days of the niners. Great teams. But right now, they are not exactly that. Steelers may still make it since they are 4-4. But we'll see.

Derek Carr is good but we will not be able to beat anyone if he throws INT every single week.

In any other teams I believe he would have been benched but with us he's the future and we have got no other choice with moving forward and trying to create a dynamic offense.

Former Minnesota Vikings owner Red McCombs said in a radio interview that San Antonio is ready if the Oakland Raiders decide to move to the city and that he is even willing to invest in the team if needed.

Perhaps seeing the writing on the wall, the Oakland Raiders withdrew their request to relocate to Los Angeles. So what's next?
McCombs, an 88-year-old billionaire, said in a radio interview with ESPN San Antonio on Wednesday that he talked to Raiders owner Mark Davis on Tuesday after the team withdrew its application to relocate to Los Angeles.
According to Bleacher Report, Davis owns land in the San Antonio area where he could build a stadium.
McCombs said San Antonio has "several locations that would work" to build a stadium and that he has 12 corporate sponsors lined up with "serious commitments." Now he has to convince Davis that moving his team to Texas is the right move for the franchise.
"He was born and raised there, and he has a great feeling for the state of California," McCombs said of Davis. "But it appears he is going to need to go somewhere."
McCombs said he would be amenable to buying into the Raiders if that's what it would take to get the team to play in San Antonio.
"We would be happy to be investors if that what he wants," he said. "We have investors lined up if that what he wants. If he wants to keep it all to himself, that's OK too."
The San Francisco Chronicle said Davis declined to comment about a potential future in San Antonio.
The Raiders would need league approval to relocate to San Antonio, but McCombs said he doesn't believe that would be withheld because of the team's troubles securing a new stadium in Oakland.

On Tuesday in Houston, NFL owners approved Rams owner Stan Kroenke's plan to relocate his team from St. Louis to the site of the old Hollywood Park racetrack in Inglewood, California, about 10 miles from downtown L.A. The Chargers have a yearlong option to join the Rams, followed by the Raiders if the San Diego franchise declines.
After his team was denied its bid to move to Los Angeles, Davis said he didn't know where his team would play next season.
"We don't have a lease right now at the Oakland Coliseum," he said. "America, the world is a possibility for the Raider Nation."
In 2014, Davis traveled to San Antonio to meet with area leaders and scout the area.
McCombs said if Davis "does decide to go somewhere we want him to decide to come here."
"What happened yesterday (Tuesday) in Houston was absolutely the greatest thing that could happen to us short of getting somebody committed to come in here, because that cleared the runway to where now he can make his decision and go anywhere he wants to," McCombs said.
The Raiders have been a franchise since 1959, the year the old American Football League came into being. The franchise has been in the Davis family since Mark's father, Al, became coach and general manager of the Raiders in 1963.

I think they may have to rethink their offensive play calling. Del Rio keeps telling everyone they're going to run the ball more often but it's all just coach speak at the moment. Last year they attempted a little over 22 attempts a game for a total of 359. This year they're at a little over 25 attempts a game, with a projected total of 405. 3 more attempts a game isn't a change in philosophy. They should've salted away the lead with the running game. They still rely too much on the passing game.

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval signed Senate Bill 1 and Assembly Bill 1 into law on Monday at the Richard Tam Alumni Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The move clears another hurdle in possibly moving the Oakland Raider to Las Vegas.
The bill, which required a simple majority vote to pass, was approved in the Assembly on a 35-7 vote and in the Senate on a 21-0 vote.
Senate Bill 1, passed Friday after a week-long special session, calls for an increase in Clark County's hotel room tax to help finance a $1.9 billion, 65,000-seat domed stadium, clearing a path for the relocation of the Raiders to Vegas.
In addition to a $750 million public investment, terms of the stadium deal call for contributions of $650 million from the family of Las Vegas Sands Corp. Chairman Sheldon Adelson and $500 million from the Raiders.
The bill also includes a separate hotel room tax increase to help fund $1.4 billion in improvements to the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Raiders owner Mark Davis has pledged to move the team to Las Vegas, provided three-fourths of NFL team owners (24 of 32) approve, but has said he would wait teo years before doing so.

It all starts with a solid qb. Oakland was buying college qb n all were duds. Ohio state prior was bad azz in college but a dud with the raiders. I never thought that Oakland would get their franchise qb in carr. I just hope he is not a lucky year one hit wonder like tebow n colin.

SIGNS OF PROGRESS IN EFFORT TO KEEP RAIDERS IN OAKLAND
OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Sources tell ABC7 News that the Oakland City Council and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors will soon consider an offer on a land deal for the Coliseum property by a group headed by NFL hall of Famer Ronnie Lott.
Lott spoke exclusively with ABC7 News on his group's effort last month. Sources say a vote could come as early as Tuesday. The city council did not take up the issue in closed session Monday.
If a deal on the land can be reached, it could pave the way for Lott's Group to negotiate a stadium deal with the Raiders.
All this comes as the Raiders consider an offer to move to Las Vegas.

That actually happened here with the Hornets. The fans were supportive of the team when they moved to NO. When Charlotte started up the Bobcats the fans were torn. But eventually some of my friends remain loyal to the city and not the team and when Michael Jordan brought back the name Hornets to the city of Charlotte the fans forgot about NO team. For me, if that ever happen to the Raiders, I am pretty sure I will remain a fan.

The road to LV just got difficult, one of the investor Adelson just pulled out of his plans on funding the stadium deal. The result of that made Goldman Sachs pulling out of financing the deal. Davis is still all in but he will need to come up with the money, I believe they are short $650 million.

On paper everything seems to look okay, still it's a huge gamble picking a player that is accused of rape. CB Gareon Conley met with Cleveland police today, gave a DNA sample and provided a voluntary statement. It will take 6-8 weeks before anything will be said. I sure hope it will work out in our favor. Hype train. No running game. Lack of talent on Defense, specifically in the Secondary. There's a reason why they're in the bottom 5-6 on Defense. They didn't significantly upgrade their Defense. This was what prompted their move to sign a new kicker. The results have thus far been the same as last year. I've been a fan of River's (and the Chargers) for a few seasons now and he'll break your heart with some 2+ int games after posting some ridiculous 3+ td 400 yd games. I think it's always been his lack of talent surrounding him. His WR's are #2-3's (Allen is a legit #1 but often injured). Gordon is their only true offensive threat. They have a good Defensive unit but not elite enough to win multiple games.

Week 11 was certainly tough and ugly for a die hard fans like myself. The coaching staffs had two weeks to prepared for this game. I knew beating NE wasn’t going to be easy but I certainly didn’t expect to see such a poor performance by both offense and defense. Plenty of people to blame for Sunday’s debacle. We don’t deserve to play in January if we can’t stand face to face with a playoff teams in November.
We are not out of the playoffs hunt but that loss just proves to me that we don’t have it.

It's no secret that we have been under performing offensively this year. Lackluster offense, it was expected when Del Rio changed from Musgrave to Downing in the mid of the season on the offensive coordinator. Downing's scheme was too simple. I must have seen less than five deep throw, it was always a handoff and check down for Carr. Carr is to blame as well. He looks nothing like 2016 franchise QB. He's been regressing since his big payday. Del Rio then went ahead and fired the Defensive Coordinator. With these decisions and not making the playoff, I will not be surprise if he will not return as the Raiders' coach for 2018.
Very disappointing year and we were expecting to make the super bowl when the season started. Some changes needs to be made if we are expecting to win the West and going deep into the playoffs.

I'm not sold on him yet. He did outstanding in the championship game. but so far this year (as is every year) Bama plays a cupcake schedule. So far the best team they played were TAMU. As for the rest of the season. This week should be good against LSU. MSU is "ranked" guess. Auburn can be an upset, but they are 2-3.
This is the road block game for bama as lsu is blocking it. Next two worth mentioning game for bama is msu n Auburn plus a cupcake school. Lsu already beat msu n Auburn so this is the game for them. Lose this and maybe say goodbye to the playoff.
Lsu beating Georgia was impressive. They have a shot at bama this weekend. Win here and tua can coast for the Heisman unless they needed bama to faces Georgia in the playoff to really convince that tua is the real deal.

They had the game all day long, they fought towards the end but the defense failed to stop the last drive. Time ran out on the offense. I'm proud of the improvement but disappointed that we can not win over a playoff team. I believe that would have been a turning point for the season and finally have a winning one for a change.

This team is young and they will get much better. Rookies are doing well. Gruden will continue to add the right piece with next year drafts, thanks to Chicago for the trade picks. I don’t think Gruden is sold on Carr, we may see someone else, depending on the rest of this season. But I really like what I see thus far.

I always knew that Gruden will eventually have his hand on his very own QB. And it should be interesting to see who the Raiders can bring aboard. We need a veteran, I feel that we have got everything almost in place to keep on improving. Just a few more needs and the right QB and it’s going to be something to see. Whenever I hear the phrase “good problem to have,” my response is that the only good problem to have is no problem at all.
Raiders owner Mark Davis has a problem.
The players on his team want interim coach Rich Bisaccia to get the permanent job. Multiple players, including quarterback Derek Carr, have spoken out in favor of Bisaccia.
How can Davis hire someone else? How would anyone else want that job, under these circumstances?
It’s already hard enough to show up and take over a new team. On top of everything else, the next Raiders coach (if it’s not Bisaccia) will have to worry about converting (or perhaps getting rid of) those who wanted Bisaccia. While the situation would be temporary, it could set the tone for the new coach’s tenure. And it could prompt a coach with options to shy away from taking the job.
As of Saturday, there was a sense that, if the Raiders win or keep it close, Bisaccia would have a chance. They kept it close. And, in true Raiders fashion, a bad call conspired to keep them from winning. Why not give Bisaccia a full year as the head coach to show what he can do?
Meanwhile, as Davis decides what to do, maybe some of these other teams looking for coaches should do their due diligence regarding Bisaccia. Maybe his right-place, right-time performance could help someone else conclude he’s the right guy.

The guy basically got lucky with them bombs just to keep the drive alive but redzone, man, that was hard to watch. 8 downs and can't even get a TD. Finally they got in and I already knew it, their execution plays are piss poor once again.
Good QB don't throw that ball out of bounds just because he saw a shadow. How many did Carr did? Good QB got a leg to run and shoot and as a last option, throw it out of bound. Carr thinks he's smart by throwing it away. Those are downs you can't get back.

Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis could soon have a very famous co-owner.
Los Angeles Lakers legend-turned-businessman Magic Johnson is in talks to purchase a minority stake in the Raiders, according to Semafor's Liz Hoffman. Per the report, Johnson has been assembling a team of investors in recent weeks and the group is conducting due diligence with the team.
The deal would reportedly come at a price that would set a new record for team valuation. As Semafor notes, Forbes reported In August Davis had an offer on the table that would value his team at $6.5 billion, well ahead of the American record set by the $4.65 billion sale of the Denver Broncos, the Raiders' division rival.
It is not confirmed that Johnson made that offer or if the current deal being discussed even carries that valuation, but it's hard to imagine anyone getting a bargain buying into the Raiders given skyrocketing revenues of NFL franchises and the favorable Las Vegas location.
Johnson has flirted with pursuing the Raiders before, as he reportedly considered investing in a bid to bring the team back to Los Angeles back when the team was facing a relocation crossroads in Oakland.

If Johnson successfully buys into the NFL, it will be yet another addition to his massive business portfolio.

All of those stakes are minority shares, but they speak to the diversity of Johnson's investing and billionaires' desire to have him as a face of their ownership groups.

Looking at the remaining games, the schedule is favorable for my Raiders so they should be able to win most of the games left. Gotta have faith and trust in each other and play hard all the way out. I'm a Raider Nation member and I'm NOT "feeling good"...As I've said back in January, should've just given the coach that the players believe in, trust and have faith in an opportunity after he took my Raiders to the playoff.
What's done is done so hope the coaches and players can find a way to do better..becaus e the shutout today was ugly.
Raiders can't be feeling good about their Josh McDaniels hire
Over the first two months of the NFL season, no head coach has gotten ripped more than Nathaniel Hackett of the Denver Broncos. Not even Matt Rhule, and the Carolina Panthers already fired him.
Well, let's take a look at the bottom of the AFC West standings after Week 8, shall we?
Maybe we need to shift at least some of the Hackett jokes and slander to McDaniels, who is having a bad time of it in his second go-around as a head coach. If we go by record, Hackett has been better than McDaniels this season. You just haven't heard as much about how bad McDaniels has been.
The Raiders were listless Sunday in a 24-0 loss against a New Orleans Saints team that came in with a 2-5 record and was without receivers Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry, and standout cornerback Marshon Lattimore. The Raiders trailed 17-0 at halftime and showed no signs of life.
Derek Carr had 43 yards passing in the first half against a defense that has struggled most of the season. Just to show the first half was no fluke, the Raiders came out flat in the second half and immediately gave up a long touchdown to Alvin Kamara. Carr took a ton of punishment and was replaced in the fourth quarter by Jarrett Stidham. It wasn't a competitive game.
The Raiders shouldn't be 2-5. They were a 10-win playoff team last season, and then added Davante Adams in the offseason. Maybe the Raiders should have kept Rich Bisaccia. He had five losses in 12 games as the Raiders' interim head coach last season. McDaniels has five in his first seven.
The Raiders were a bit lucky last season and a bit unlucky this season. But some of the Raiders' bad luck this season is their record in close games, and some of that is coaching.
NFL team owners couldn't give up the idea of McDaniels being a great head coach. They didn't quit on him after he bombed with the Broncos many years ago. They didn't cross him off the list after he told the Indianapolis Colts he'd take their job but backed out before he got on the plane for his introductory news conference. Everyone ignored that practically all Bill Belichick assistants have failed as head coaches, and McDaniels had already failed once.

You guys think firing Josh is the answer? He tanked in Denver and the owner of Raider is clueless for taking him on and giving him that big contract.
Now how can you fire a first year head coach? Wouldn't that reflect on yourself as a team owner to fire a first year head coach? Wouldn't you still have to pay him outright? Is this why the owner of the raiders are keeping Josh because of such contract?

I want you to remember something here. Wait for 3rd and long and see what carr do with the ball. It will be a obvious pass play cuz if you are 3rd and long and you run, you a dummy team unless your RB averages 10 yards a carry for said game. If you need 8 yards for the first down, Carr is going to check down throw for 5 yards and hoping that his player will run after catch. This is not how elite QB are doing it. On 3rd and long, the defense will play into you. They will let you throw short and will sit at the first down marker to tackle your azz.
This is all i watch for when I watched them raiders now. Carr and his habits.

Vs the Colts, we needed 6 yards and he decided to just throw it up to the endzone and hoping that Adams would bring it down. Well, no catch and game over.
The decision a QB makes is crucial for the drive. Carr has no comprehension of extending the play.

That cry baby did it to himself. GM and coach were professionals, pull him to the office and told him he will be benched for the last two games. Dude got butt hurt and left the team. I will not rule out the Rodgers deal, anything can happen.

Davis was in attendance for the Raiders' 24-17 loss against the Chargers in Los Angeles, watching from his open-air, suite-level seats at SoFi Stadium. Fans of his team found him during the game and loudly voiced their displeasure about Las Vegas' performance especially as it related to second-year head coach Josh McDaniels in a video posted to TikTok.

Josh McDaniels' Raiders tenure
Las Vegas hired Josh McDaniels, the Patriots' former offensive coordinator, to be their head coach ahead of the 2022 season. In his first season, the Raiders began the year 2-7 before finishing 4-4 down the stretch to end McDaniels' first year at 6-11. This year, with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo taking over under center, the team is off to a 1-3 start with their only win coming against a bad Broncos team, moving their head coach's record down to 7-14.
McDaniels isn't without a fair share of the blame for the team's poor performance over his first two seasons thus far. In 2022, the Raiders blew 17-point leads in three different games, displaying a nearly unbelievable inability to close out games while holding the lead. Last year, Las Vegas also was the only team to lose a game to the Jeff Saturday-led Colts as the former center made his head coaching debut in the wake of Frank Reich's firing.
In 2023, McDaniels has already made one of the most questionable coaching decisions of any team this season. On Sunday Night Football in Week 3, the Raiders were losing to the Steelers, 23-15, late in the fourth quarter. With two and a half minutes remaining, Las Vegas faced a 4th & 4 play on Pittsburgh's 8-yard line. Rather than continuing the drive to attempt a touchdown and two-point conversion to tie the game late, McDaniels opted to send Daniel Carlson out to kick a 26-yard field goal. The Steelers remained in the lead and the Raiders still needed a touchdown to overcome their now five-point deficit.
Las Vegas lost the game, 23-18.
Josh McDaniels contract and hot seat status
With the team struggling so heavily under McDaniels, it's fair to wonder whether he's truly on the hot seat, as the fans in the TikTok video would hope. The answer is not clear.
According to Sportico, the head coach's four-year contract with the Raiders pays him an annual salary of $10 million.
While McDaniels' Raiders struggled in 2022, Davis still expressed his support for the first-year head coach and his team.
Then a report came out from Los Angeles Times writer Bill Plaschke that suggested the team owner did not have enough money to fire McDaniels and eat the cost of the contract.
On top of the money they owe their current head coach, Las Vegas is still paying his predecessor, Jon Gruden. Gruden resigned from the position in 2021 after emails he sent featuring racist, misogynistic and homophobic remarks leaked. The team still owed him $40 million when he left the organization, but Davis said they had reached a settlement with Gruden on that owed money. The terms of the settlement remain undisclosed.

With tens of millions of dollars committed to the Raiders' last two head coaches, along with the money required to pay the salary of the rest of the coaching staff and 53 players on the roster, it's possible that Davis really can't fire McDaniels.
Forbes has Davis' net worth listed at $2.3 billion, which places him in the bottom half of all NFL owners by net worth.

It's not a mystery why an NFL franchise would want Tom Brady as part of its ownership group. He's the greatest winner in NFL history, he brings attention and perhaps some of his leadership would affect the team in a positive way.
However, Brady can't just be handed an ownership stake.
Mark Maske and Nicki Jhabvala of Washington Post reported that Brady's part-ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders is still being held up in part because of the discount he was given. One of the three sources cited by the Post said that "the deal would be unlikely to be ratified at the proposed price." According to one of the Post's sources, it's believed Brady might be getting a discount of as much as approximately 70 percent. The Post said Brady is believed to be buying between five to 10 percent of the Raiders, who were valued to be worth $6.2 billion by Forbes this August.
In May, it was reported Brady was buying a stake in Mark Davis' Raiders. Brady retired from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after last season ended. Now it's unclear if Davis and Brady will revise their deal to satisfy the league's finance committee, the Post said.
The Post reported that NFL owners are not expected to approve the deal to make Brady a part owner at the league meeting Oct. 17-18. It must be approved by 24 of 32 owners.
Presumably, the NFL wants Brady involved in ownership as much as Davis does. He's one of the iconic figures in league history. In the Post's story, it was speculated that some within the league want the deal to go through and perhaps a compromise can be reached. Brady has always been good in the final two minutes of a game. Maybe he can pull out a last-minute surprise with his ownership desire as well.
