If you catch the scene where the main character said to the last remaining dude, "This jungle is where I grew up and I familiar my surrounding."

I.E. American soldiers lost the battle. The Vietcong knew the jungle really well and use it as their advantage. However, the American won the war by dropping nuclear bombs. Americans soldiers weren't good at blending with the environments except building vehicles and looking for troubles.
