I love the look of that scallopped jacket...gave your outfit a unique look to it.   I also like your pleated mustard skirt.   I could never wear pleated anything because I just don't think it looks good on me.  *sigh*
again, as sukie said, you're pretty tall in comparison to us shorties...

And you guys mentioned Justice...I've been to Justice plenty of times with my daughter and they're usually very trendy pieces for children.  The clothes are flowery and glittery.  Even my daughter is sick of them now.  You guys must be tiny people to get clothings from there because I know that nothing from that store would fit my thunder thighs or arms.  :2funny: :2funny:

ok, i admit, i've gotten things from the kids section before.....in large or x-large.   ;D  :2funny:

My baby sister is 5'7 and she hates it.  My little sister calls her the giant.

she may not like it now but eventually she'll be able to appreciate her height.   ;D   O0

Trouble, given that most Hmong girls are between 4'10" - 5' 0", you are considered very tall for Hmong.

Like RW, F21 is a hit or miss for me too.  It's so unorganized it's hard to find things.

LOL when you are petite like me, anyone over 5 is consider tall.  :2funny:

hahahaha....yo u gals are funny.  when i was younger, i used to wish i was shorter.  hehehe....   :P  just imagine, being able to see the top of people's heads, feeling like a giant, being poked by umbrellas at the soccer tourneys, etc. etc..... :2funny:

I don't think my DKNY jean are the soho kind then because I have a darker one that I like and then recently order a lighter color one that still has tags on but never got around to wearing it because I was pregnant at that time.  I know different store has different size and they are not always the same fit but its going to take me some time to get use to finding what store size fit me and everything.  Mall are just too far and not like I can just go in the evening for a break while husband and kids are home.

that's too bad that the jeans don't fit you well.  if you're able to, you should just send the one you recently ordered back.  i understand it's hard to leave the hubby and kids at home, you all should go shopping together.  you can make it a family event.  also, while you browse, he can watch the kids.   ;D

Trouble- You're are tall. I wish I as tall as you. Thanks. Forever21 is a hit and miss for me. Most of the time it a miss.

i guess height is each person's own perception, i don't think i'm that tall....more like average.  hehehe....   :D  yeah, i know what you mean about that place.  not only that but they have so much stuff, it can be overwhelming.. ..and most times, the quality isn't that great.

You people seem to find Target clothes Mossimo very fitting but I was there this morning to killed an hour break for myself looking though and nothing seem to be in my size.  Juniors clothes are too kiddie for me and then women/ladies are too big and just not my taste.  I'm trying to stay away from Juniors clothes because they don't give you that professional or casual look that I want and can never go wrong.

What style are your DKNY jean you wear earlier?  I have 2 pair of the slimming but then I feel like throwing them away because I have no hip or butt to fill it up and only the leg slim on me but upper top is too loose.

unfortunately, i can't really suggest any good petite-size clothing stores.   :(   the mossimo line fits me ok, but i'm a bit picky on what i wear so there's only a few things i have in that line.  like i said earlier, you'll have to try different brands/stores to find which ones fit you well, it's trial and error....

the dkny jeans i have are the soho skinny.

Trouble......... I really like your style of clothing even though they are kind of pricey but the quality look good.  I think store like Ann Taylor, Gap, Limited and Express is out of my price range only because I don't work but if I still have cc then purchasing a little here and there from time to time wouldn't be problem because its good to have a few piece of their wardrobe that can be mixed and wear more often.  I like the pencil skirt but check it on their website and even on sale is still almost close to $50 but I have to check it at the store vs. ordering it online for a black one.

Are you saying your scarf from Jo-Ann fabric are usually just sewn?  Do you just measure the size with another scarf?  I don't think the price is bad if a yard of fabric is all it take to get a scarf.  It does give you more variety of print to your own taste.

summerberry, here's a couple of outfits that's very affordable.  i like to mix and match different brands also.

first pic-casual:  cami (jcp), sweater (target), mossimo capri (target), scarf (jo-ann fabrics)
second pic-semi:  shirt (jcp), vest (limited), mossimo capri (target)

all this is under $80 (excluding shoes/jewelry).  the target capris fit like the talbot ones but the fabric is different.  you can find some really nice things but you will have to take the time to look for it.  there are some good deals online but i know what you mean when you say you want to see them in person.  i'm cautious about sizing online too.   :(  you can also get discounts if you sign up on their e-mail list.   O0

in regards to the scarves, i'm a bit picky on the type of fabric and design.  i couldn't find anything that i really liked so i decided to create my own.....saving money on this was a plus.   ;D   O0  you just have to figure how long you want the scarf and what type of fabric/design you want.  mine was about a yard and a half.

hmmmm....i don't think i've ever called her my partner   ???....my other half, yes, but not my partner.....th e only partner she would be of mine is definitely my partner in crime like RW said.   ;D    :2funny:

Oh...ehehehe.  Are you Hmong?

yes, i am hmong.   ;D

I like the length of the skirt.  It is more like pencil skirt?  I have to make a list of store to check out this weekend at Modesto Mall and start my collection.  I might have to stick with color that I can wear year round or go with just about everything 1st before jumping into other colors.

Accessories like bracelet, necklace, etc.  I might have to slow it down because they do cost a lot and if I was to choose between it or clothes then I rather get clothes.

yes, summerberry.  it is a pencil skirt.  i prefer those for work cause it looks more professional and i like how it forms on a woman's body.  sexy yet sophisticated.   O0

Trouble, business chic!  Thanks for sharing.

Summerberry, if you are building a wardrobe and want essential pieces that you can wear for years to come, definitely get a black pencil skirt and the classic white button up shirt.  These are two items that will withstand the test of time, and you will be able to wear them with many pieces in your closet. O0

I think it was already mentioned for you to check Ann Taylor or Loft.  These two stores are pretty petite friendly.  Also check out Banana Republic, some stores carry petites.  H&M has some really nice pencil skirts at reasonable price so check them out too.  Sign up to receive promotions because when they do they will email you coupons.  I think if you sign up, you will get a coupon for 20% off one item of your choice.  There are so many more essential pieces to add to your wardrobe, and you just have to start with one or two pieces and go from there.

As for jewelry, check out F21 or H&M.  A lot of my jewelry are from F21.  Target has nice jewlry too.  Check out Macy's clearance racks.  Last weekend it was additional 50% off the clearance price.  If you are patient and look you can find some great pieces for a great price!

Have fun shopping!

i agree with sukie.  you should get basic and classic pieces that will last for years.  some of my suits, i've had for a while and i still wear them.  they never go out of style.  i also try to take good care of them so they will last longer.  make sure that the pieces you get, you can mix and match to make a couple of different outfits.   ;D

Beautiful outfits as always.

thanks.

Since you have lots of white blouse, try to find a nude one. A nude or tan blouse is a great versatile piece that you wear with anything.

I picked this two blouses in a size 4 for $4.95 each from H&M. Size 2 should fit you well.

those are some nice finds.  i'll have to go check h&m out this weekend if i have time.

Well...here's today's outfit.
Blouse from Rule21.
Black top from Macy.
Skirt from Fashion Bug.

i like how you added the pearls to accessorize.  fashion bug?  i remember when those were around.....i don't think there are any around here anymore......   ???

today is casual friday for us, this is what we wore....

on me:  gap blazer, at bow tie blouse, dkny jeans, nw pumps, earrings/bracelet from macy's.

ok before I run away, I think this is a nice enough dress, but it appears too matronly on the top half and too much dress overall for your small frame.

i agree with thajyeeb.  i think if the top part had a deeper v-neck, then it wouldn't look so matronly.  i do like the design though.  ;)

I don't know how to describe the top.  I think it's a dress shirt.  It's grey.  The vest is also grey.  I wore brown tight.  Ummmm the vest adds style to the plain dress shirt.  Without the vest, the dress shirt is plain and doesn't have sytle.

That's not my waist.  It's actually tied higher than my waist.

It's comfortable.  :)

I have not been exercising and eating more.  ;D  I think I look bigger in this picture.  ;D

it's grey?  i thought it was blue, it looked blue on my screen.  i also thought it was a one piece, both vest and dress shirt.  maybe trying on a different color vest to give it some contrast?
