Title: first Hmong-made movie going Hollywood
Post by: cheeze on February 17, 2016, 07:40:17 PM
This is the first Hmong-made film that sold to a big Hollywood production company. The Vang Brothers (Abel & Burlee Vang), the guys that won the Academy's Nicholl Fellowship back in 2011 just finished their first feature film. They sold the foreign rights to Voltage Pictures, the company that produced the Oscar-winning films, The Hurt Locker and Dallas Buyers Club. Below are the links to the articles covering the story.
