Title: Wolf Fish
Post by: N`Chync on October 19, 2014, 08:32:47 PM
Just bought me a 3" wolf fish from Tropiquatics. This little guy is sweet. Was hoping to find a rainbow wolf fish but they were out. Instead got a Trinidad Wolf Fish aka Hoplias Malabaricus or the common wolf fish. might have to pick up one more but I would also rather have the rainbow wolf fish since they don't get so big.

I was thinking maybe when my guy gets too big I'll do the same. I wanted a rainbow wolf fish since they don't get too big.

Too small? Don't think so. I still have a 125 gallon and none of my fish are bigger than 4". My wolf fish won't even get past 12" for almost 2 years. I'm only getting medium sized fish so I'm fine. My 55 will be fine and my other fish don't get over 10" except my shovelnose lima catfish that gets 18". The big guys are slow growers. I'm not getting anything that grows over 2'. I'm getting my tanks and equipment from my cousins who are into monster fish and quiting the hobby for now.

I don't have the room for tanks that can house 3' fish. If I did I'd get a Goliath tiger fish and Goliath wolf fish.

Here in MN that's what we used to do during the winter time. Go fish shopping every weekend.

Yea I use to go around with my cousins. I wanna get my tanks set up before it snows so I have something to do at home.

Too big. I think 25-55gal for small fishes is perfect.

I just want medium sized fish. Got a 125 for when my Mala wolf fish gets big along with the lima catfish and whatever can get along with them. Want a 75 gallon for a few rainbow wolf fish or 1 curupira wolf fish. Rainbow wolf fish in the 55's or other small predators. LoL the wolf fish really caught my attention.

You already have the tank? Just get it set up.

I don't have equipment for the 125. Still gotta go get the stand for my 55 before I set it up. And waiting on the other 55 and 75.

Hope you don't live upstairs. Lol

I'm downstairs lol. Gonna have the 125 in the living room and the other 3 in my room. Only had the wolf fish for a week and I just watch the tank until I sleep lol. I'm getting my stuff from cousin. That's how I'm getting stuff for free.

Those are nice.

I was into bettas 10 years ago. Now gonna try new fish.

Yea it can lol. I use to have more bettas than I could pay attention to. And now I'm collecting tanks to get ready for future fish.
