Title: Have I been swindled?
Post by: Eyedumgai on September 18, 2012, 08:47:50 AM
A group of scammers that have no business doing driveway paving put some pothole filler and riverbed gravel on my driveway, took my deposit and never returned for work. Calls to their phone is straight to voicemail and leaving them gets no responses.

Anybody have any tips or ran into this before in the MN area?

they left the stuff behind and then never return to finish it.
of course the money was already paid.

i end up doing the work myself.

Make sure you have a contract and they are state licensed.  A breach of contract can get you a lot of money..

sorry to hear that dude. i don't know if you have a contract but you can try looking for them on yellow page or call from a different number. if they answer set up a job or bid at a different location. start from there.

mine was from some tongan people. hell, i don't even know if they even have a license  :idiot2:

Sorry about yours too. But what ever happened to your situation? Any resolution? Phone number to trace back to?

That's why you should have the money held in escrow.

Should have told them to wait outside while you go talk to your wife.  But instead, search them up online and see if their legit..  traveling scammers are so common these days.. Just gotta be observant and on  your guard.

an old white lady/man here just got scammed for 9,400..  the Perp was caught on the bank camera cashing the check, but it was too late for the victim to put a stop-payment on the check..  $$ is easily parted from a fool..
