When the Chinese were trying to wipe out all Hmong
in China, their government sent out soldiers to all Hmong
villages for that. Whoever they say, they killed, especially
the boys and men who could retaliate.

Then a Hmong couple in a remote village where they were
most helpless somehow survived. How? Turned out they
were worshipping Xwm Kab and had a drawn picture
of the Chinese Money God on the wall. When the two soldiers
broke open the Hmong couple's door and saw the Xwm Kab and Money God
on the wall across the hallway, they bowed down and  backed
out slowly with heads bowed all the way out.
