General Discussion / Trump and Biden

General Discussion / I'm Confused Why The Serfs Are Fighting...
« on: April 01, 2020, 11:46:20 PM »
It bothers me that the 1% enjoy life at its fullest and the 99% have to eat crumbs.  Here we are bickering about right or left when none of that really exists.  At the end of the day, the right and left elites get together with the bankers and do what they've always done... SELL US OUT.  So I am confused about why the serfs are fighting with their made-up groups.

Guess how much the average joe will get?  350B!  99% are getting 5.8% and the 1% are getting 94.2%.  Make Corporations Greater!  That should be Trump's slogan.

Faith & Beliefs / Failure to Evolve the Mind
« on: March 19, 2020, 03:12:11 PM »
Today the entire knowledge of human history is at our fingertips.  We know more about the known universe today than ever.  Yet, with all that increase in knowledge, we have become diminished in our spirit.  A new virus spreads across the globe and everything grinds to a halt.  Hate emerges.  Fear emerges.  Greed emerges.  Gluttony emerges.  The evolution should be greater belonging, greater togetherness, greater solutions, but all is not what it should seem.  Seems like we've been taught all wrong.  A house of cards made of knowledge but empty of the spirit.

General Discussion / Sad About How Asians Are Being Treated
« on: March 19, 2020, 12:50:00 PM »
My wife and I were at the grocery store at 9pm last night.  The workers were nice and accomodating but the white people were avoiding us.  One lady saw us down the aisle and she did a u-turn quickly in terror.  Of course, she was in her 50's.  One guy in his 30's was shopping and we turned into the aisle and he got nervous and started to distance himself.  We noticed that over half the white people in the store were afraid of Asians and dodging Asians.  I really wish our President would set the tone to how ALL AMERICANS should be treated.  His constant racist remarks make being a POC much harder as if it wasn't hard enough to be a POC.

Faith & Beliefs / Light of Faith
« on: March 18, 2020, 04:33:04 PM »
My reflection for today.

During a crisis, the true inner reflection of you is expressed.  During a crisis, the best and worst of humanity emerges.  During a crisis, you come to value what you've lost.

Out of the crisis, be present, be still, and listen.  Out of the crisis, remember what you most missed and that is most valuable.  Out of the crisis, what did you learn?

All things shall pass like this crisis.  All things shall be renewed again.  That is the cyclical nature of creation.  What ought to remain constant is the light of your faith.

Money & Investment / HmgRock - Bear Market
« on: March 12, 2020, 10:22:49 AM »
Brother HmgRock,

Relax man.  You are becoming unstable and irrational talking about crazy stuff like wanting everything to go to zero, you already prepped and ready (for Armageddon?), and how billionaires deserves its.

I told you that in a market correction or recession your dollar cost averaging a total market index would be impacted.  Heh, it’s just paper lost because your goal is retirement.  Keep up the dollar cost averaging at appropriate intervals.  You’ll come out on top.

Also, don’t be sad that Bernie got sandbagged by the DNC again.  I love Bernies ideas but he isn’t pragmatic on cost, and so the DFL backstabbed him AGAIN.

Have gratitude and thank the Universe the sun still rises and rain still falls and fishes are still fun to catch and eat.  The simple things in life are free like love and kindness.

General Discussion / Is Coronavirus REALLY DEADLY?
« on: March 03, 2020, 11:03:01 AM »
Some guy ran the numbers and made a visual representation to help us all understand the situation.  I did some fact-checking and looks like CDC said 1.5% over the weekend.

Money & Investment / Super Tuesday
« on: March 03, 2020, 10:46:01 AM »
Looks like the rate cut didn't do enough.  Perhaps the market was looking for .5% vs .25%.  In addition, looks like the FDA is going to let some of the LDT Coronavirus test across interstate commerce.  Good for the FDA to calm the public panic.  Now the real issue is Bernie Sanders.  Looks like the DFL are sandbagging Sanders.  If Biden wins, the market goes up.  If Bernie wins, it's going to be volatile.  2020 is becoming the year of election and virus.  You cannot make this shit up!

It's going to be funny.  HR is going to say yes Bernie then cry about his 401k again.   :2funny:

Money & Investment / Suspend Your Disbelief and Pre-Programming.
« on: February 09, 2020, 05:00:06 PM »
We live in a world in which we are taught DO THIS, and DO NOT DO THIS.  Throughout our entire life, we've been directed by authority figures on HOW TO LIVE.  It starts with our parents telling us right from wrong.  Then comes the teachers telling us what is good knowledge.  Then comes the professors telling how to apply new knowledge to become a professional.  Then come to your manager and supervisor telling us how to do our jobs properly.  Throughout our life, we've been pre-programmed on how to live and conduct ourselves.  For the MOST PART, these teachings are wisdom passed down from generation to generation, and they enable us to adapt and be well suited for society.  HOWEVER, if you have BIG dreams, and you want to live a FULFILLING LIFE, do what 95% of what people do isn't going to do that for you.  Yes, you can play the 401k game and do dollar-cost averaging for the next 30-40 years and be very disciplined putting all your nest egg into the stock market.  You will retire a millionaire by the time you are in your 60's.  This is a BIG WHAT IF they are not telling you.  What if you are like my Uncle who died a millionaire by the time he was 58 years old?  Short of 5 years to retirement?  What good is all that for?  Great for your wife and your kids, but what about you?!?!  You made the great sacrifice for THEM, and you didn't get to FULLY ENJOY LIFE, and for what?

If you want to be rich, you have to be a contrarian, meaning you have to think differently than the herd.  Yes, thinking differently is dangerous but if you build a strong belief, strong system, strong discipline, and strong execution, you can leave the safety of the herd and graze on greener pasture.  To do this, you must suspend the belief that average is acceptable.  You must suspend belief, that you cannot.  You must believe YOU CAN.  Everyone is going to tell you that you failed, and everyone is going to laugh at you when you fail.  Pick yourself up and try again.  Failure is merely the First Attempt In Learning.

When I was young, my father told me I probably won't amount to much because I had such poor behaviors.  People thought I would go to jail or be dead because I was very rough around the edges.  I was told to get a job at McDonald's and accept that as my fate.  I said no, no, and no.  I got my bachelor's degree.  I landed my first job making 50k+.  Bought my first car.  5 years later, my friend founded a company, and I join his company and we made it highly successful.  He was a millionaire.  He wasn't the best engineer but he had a big heart and a big belief that he can make it.  That was my first 6-figure job...a job I created for myself.  Afterward, I went o learn about business by working at some of the top companies managing their business but it wasn't lucrative because your limitation is by your level.  So I left with a goal to start my own business.  Right now I'm day trading.  I've always invested and swing a trade for over 15 years.  I've made enough to replace my salary.  To be honest, I'm afraid of losing my money, but that's a good thing...becaus e if I wasn't afraid, I'll probably lose the money.  Over this year, my goal is to 2x my income.  I don't know if I'll make it, but I'm not going to suspend my belief and believe that I can make it.  I'm literally eating everything I can find online and all the resources on trading.  I spend 18+ hours a day playing the market and studying the market.  My goal is to see if I can hit 100k this year.  I'm already 10% there.  I believe as my capital grows, and my experience grows I'll be able to increase my lot size and have better reflexes to execute my gains.

Capital is the only game in which you can compound your wealth.  Working 9-5 for someone isn't a solution unless you own the place.  I ain't greedy, if I earn 2-3M, I'm done working FOREVER.  Buy a big farm and be free.

Money & Investment / S&P500 and NASDAQ
« on: February 01, 2020, 03:56:38 PM »
Did you know most index funds who are indexing the top 10 biggest company have huge risk exposure to a massive correction?  Make sure you know what’s in your fund.  The top 10 biggest company make up around 20% of the S&P value and around the same number for NASDAQ.  If they get a 20% hair cut on a correction, the S&P would be falling rapidly.  Apple had almost a 5% haircut after closing some store in China.  You see how fragile the top 10 biggest are???  We may see upwards to 35% correction on them in a market recession or more.  So if you are deep value hunting, where should your money be at?  Where some big thinker think are in biotech stocks looking to disrupt.  Biotech is hard to invest because it’s such a risky business.  But for the winners they are going to the moon.  Case in point, Regeneron, Exact Sciences, Illuminia, etc... in the past several years.  Technology there are deep value too.  I would caution anyone who blindly throw money in indexes if you think the stock market is overvalued.  Also, if you are passive, become more aware of the market, so you know how your money is going to work for you.  With that said, as long as the FED continue to print $$ and companies continue to buy their stocks with fiat money, it’ll keep going up.  So how the fed behaves is how one should think about their investment.
