Not sure how big the Chinese community is or was in Michigan back then in the 90's, but there wasn't a whole lot of Chinese/Asian restaurants back then...so the business minded Hmong Michiganions back then capitalize on the opportunity and open up alot of the chinese/asian restaurants around I suppose Lansing, Detroit. And yup, a lot of Black customers..but I think it died down now. Since Black folks up there probably knows good and bad chinese food now..lols Not taking away anything from anyone...but there use to be a Hmong run chinese place in my town..and the only thing worth its price was the firecracker fried rice they call it I think, and the intestines...w hich was popular among a lot of Black folks..the other dishes they had similar to what Panda express, like kung pao, orange chicken, was like wtf, this is just regular stir fry chicken, pork or beef with sweet and sour sauce or Kung Pao sauce over it...lols they didn't velvet any of the meat like Chinese folks do..haha

anyone has recurring dreams? I have one where I would be traveling on a high way and I'll struggle to find my way back or out. These kind of dreams comes maybe once every couple months. The thing is when I have these dreams, I also struggle to wake up, so to speak..but its because I'm exhausted, not because I want to wake up but can't because something is sitting on top of me kind of thing..lols

I told my wife about this dream, and she said..Stop smoking...dang ..thought I was slick and conceal the smell...so yeah folks, need to stop smoking. I did quit..but I'm like I'll quit for a few months, smoke regularly for a week or two, quit for a while, then go to work, co-worker offers you a smoke, then you get hook again..for a week or two..lols

anyway, this time this dream was particularly annoying...so i got lost and can't find my way out or back to familiar roads..I stopped to asked a Uncle. I remember which uncle it was, but we're not close or anything, and really I have not thought of the guy for a long time..very random.but in the dream he gave me a ultimatum of some sort..I can't remember what..just that I was annoyed and losing my patience..like it was just tell me how to get back dude! I don't have time! but he keep saying wait, I'm busy right now, let me finish this first...lols

never was too crazy for it. but i read somewhere they're still making them, they are just using a different pepper to make it now.

all I need in my pho as far as condiments go is hoison sauce and chile garlic oil. but then it wouldn't be authentic pho, cus hoison is Chinese..lols but never was too crazy for PHo to begin with..I prefer chicken noodle soup a lot of times..lols

some people are hard to read. this means they are smart people. but the little cues a person display says a lot about their character. more importantly, how they really feel about you. like a good poker player, you gotta pick up the signs, clues almost instanteneousl y..I've gotten really good at knowing when someone is genuine towards me and when someone is just putting on a front. 99% of the time, people are just putting a front. and that's okay..because you do the same towards them..because at the end of the day, nobody is going to pay your bills and wipe your ass...lols..so just put a front like how they are just to keep the peace...life is 99% lies, and if you're lucky 1% facts..lols

very sad...like they say, sometimes it's the most seemingly happy people who are the ones who are most depressed. Mental health is very real...I've gone through it before..when it comes, it's uncontrollable ...it's almost like when you're pissed off and you try to keep it cool and hold your compulsure but you can't..lols. How I conquer my demons? Believe in a higher power of some sort..it's the only way. The docs won't tell a patient that, hence, it's probably illegal for them to say that..lols but in life, believing in a higher power is a must. even if you only subconsciously believe in one, is better than not..so rocko, choose your higher power now.

there has to be a real reason why rocko hates this guy so much...probabl y dated his sister once..lols

Yeah, not sure why, I'm more excited about these little trips withing driving distances. definitely, signs of old age and old souls at heart. Like going to a museum..lols.. haha the wife and I went to our first local historical site together last weekend. and I must say there's a sentimental vibe to it compare to say if we were to both flew out to Europe instead..lols will that would be sentimental too, but local vibes is different..it's kind of like why, when something that can give you the same feeling if not a much stronger feeling is right under your nose..haha but we both still plan on visiting Europe again one of these coming years..haha

Sounds kind of like me when I go to Vegas. Go out and walk around, gamble during the day. But once the sun sets, I curl up in the hotel, turn off the lights, and put on some ear plugs..lols Me and the wife made a quick stop in Vegas for 2 hours on our way to Denver couple weeks ago. Didn't do any gambling, just wanted to stop by since it's been some time we both were in Vegas. Honestly, it's a little over rated IMO after you visit a handful of times. I know people who fly out, drive out there once a month or so. And it's not like they gamble either..they just like the scene..haha

Food Forum / I was craving for some authentic western food
« on: August 04, 2023, 11:55:19 PM »
I was grocery shopping and I asked a employee if they have any other brand of bread crumbs besides Planko. She looked at me oddly, planko is the best bread crumbs you can get. I said, I prefer my bread crumbs a little more fine when making breaded fried shrimps. Planko is a little too thick and heavy for my liking..haha Then I proceeded to find something really American or Western. so I got me some chicken cordean bleu. The wife was like dude, you could just get chicken patties, ham, and cheese and slapped them together for half the price..but I was like it's not the same..lols I thought, hmm what a great idea it would be to open up a Western style restaurant in Asia somewhere..but then I came across this video..
