Title: How much salt do you go through? My wife goes through 50lbs every 2 months

You live out in the boonies? I only see folks that don't have city water do that to their water.
One of my uncle who lives out in the country with well/rural water uses salt in their water.

I've gotten used to the taste. In ice form only. Relying solely on store bought purified water.

Strictly for showers only. Never have used home water for drinking.

Same here, for showers, cleaning around the house, etc., but I don't use my city provided tap for consumption.
