I hope she's found safe. She's pretty and from the description quite small. It'd be easy to overpower her. :(

When detective shows up and sees this, it has to be a suspicious scene.

The only way for me to do a stunt like this and with explanation is if I had an emergency like poop is literally coming out of my pants.  Other than that, call the guards because something suspicious has happened to me.

In Mn, I can see a few odds.

-if hmong, kidnap for marriage but still, with that, at least let the girl to close shop first.
-if kaydoo, I don't want to think about it.  Them kaydoos in mn are nasty and not to mention, them Somalians
-if white, yep, it's a redneck
if viet, we just want the money.  You can go home.   :2funny:

Dude, where have you learned such word as "kaydoo" :) :) ?

Somalians---- don't say bad thing bout'em cuz  1) Crazy Hmong women are loving them so you may get nasty jabs by Hmong women.  2) Somalians are Muslims so they may pull the Jihad on you.  LOL

I'm hmong cultural on pebhmong.com.  I take hmong words and sprinkled it in the real world and you would be surprised.  Even hmong OG would want to push their only daughter to me.  When I marry a hmong that I kidnap, I will let you know for an invite.

We're all just speculating here... it's human nature to make sense of every situation, because we think it keeps us safe and it keeps us from making the same mistakes.

The fact is, we don't know what happen to this lady. I hope and pray, it is all just a big misunderstandi ng and she finds her way home shortly.

My wild guess is that she ran away with her mysterious bf.  Looks like she's a young grass brought from Laos.  Now that she has her green card or citizenship she has united with her old hmong lao boyfriend and they will live happily ever after. ;D ;D

no, she came to the states for over 20 years now, so that's not the case. it is a possibility that she might had ran with a lover, who knows because anything is a speculation at this point, but she is definitely not a young grass brought from laos for sure.

When you are a vendor, you expose yourself to all kind of sickos, young and old.  Those sickos who have Asian fetish would be there checking her out weekly or daily, monitor her closing time and studying her most vulnerable moments.  She would be a sitting duck for the psychos.  Yikes!

This is an easy case, they need to look at all the surveillance cameras around the area since it's around lots of stores and businesses.  My take on this is that she left with someone or could have gone to use the restroom but you would think if she went to use the restroom she'd take her keys, wallet, and phone.  The former is sad to see but it happened in broad daylight which is quite strange to see an abduction.  By looking at the tent it appears that she was about done taking it down, and encountered someone.

They should interview the husband and all close relatives; even interviewing all the vendors at the farmer's market.  Ask if she was having an affair or seeing someone, friends or family.  Do you all think she was sick and tired of her life and decided to run away with a lover?  I doubt she was seeing someone because she's been doing this for 10 or more years.  She must've been a young bride as her eldest is already 14 and she's only 31 years of age.

I don't even think about people running away with lovers these days.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the unthinkable.  Black plastic bags, river, water wells, forest/woods, and the whole nine-yard of cannibalism... and/or drugs, chained, jailed and the whole nine-yard of human trafficking.

It's a cruel world we live in today.

Prayers to the family and the missing person.

Looks like she's been abducted in the middle of packing up.  Why is she all by herself? Not safe for a woman to be alone all by herself.
She's fairly small, some nut can just pretend to be talking to her and shoved her into his car, that only takes seconds.

If you think about it, people do things alone all the time... even women.  The rest of her family were probably at the farm putting flowers together.  Also, with six children, the spouse may have been picking them up.  Don't play the "it's your fault you left her alone" card; victim-shaming is wrong.  There are many bad people out there and anything can happen to anyone of us.

Let's all hope for the best.

Not sure how late she started packing up Ann's went missing but if it's late and dark already, she shouldn't be all by herself doing that. She could get robbed, if not not kidnapped.

It was outside city hall and they estimated that it had to have happened between 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM; this means there was plenty of daylight out.  Someone must have seen something.  Being that it's right outside Lakewood's City Hall, there should be plenty of video cameras around.

In that case, don't count the aliens out, it could be them.

On a serious note:  this is a pretty strange case.

One other possibility could be that she was having a secret affair with someone and finally decided to just elope and disappear together, since it would be too hard explaining to her husband, family, kids, etc.

Wow... the good thing is she's been found safe and alive.  That's the most important thing.

Now, it'll be interesting to hear what happened and why she did it but really that's none of our business.  Who wants their dirty laundry out in the open, right?

I can only hope she gets the help she needs.

The story could have gotten better.

Girl staged her abduction by leaving her goods behind.  Once found, her van and all of its cargos are gone.  Someone stole it to make this story even more juicer.

Now she is being questioned in a coo coo asylum and once found insane, she will collect $900 a month and on top of that, we will see her out there selling her flea market flowers.

double income for the win.

Wonder why she did it.....for what?  Attention ?

I am not a psychiatrist.. . but look at her situation.

1. She's only 31 and has teenage kids... this means she got married at a really really young age. Meet her husband or worst off, given to her husband.
2. Her job, day in and day out is to sell flowers. Day after day after day.

She has mature now... becoming self aware. Aware of her needs, aware her wants, and even aware her desires. Maybe she is not getting the support or understanding she needed from home. Or perhaps she could not bring herself to let anyone else know. But make no mistake about it...
She's looking at her life and is saying, is this all there is? Is that all I am going to do, see, and have? Is this my life?

For some people, self realization is very powerful and overwhelming and in her case, the pressure was way too much for her to cope with.

I don't condone what she did, but I can totally understand why she did it.

She looks cute for being a mother of six!  Yikes!!!!!  The husband and the kids must have pushed her over the edge days after days of the same endless hard labor.  If she was my wife and she's that cute I wouldn't let her touch the soil or sitting under the sun in a vendor's tent unless she really wanted to :) :).  Well..., unless the faminists started bittttching how I use my kindness to "control" my woman.  Geeh man....., it ain't worth it working on such back breaking job.

So, this article says she was going to Thailand. Here's proof:

Lakewood police say after she staged the scene, an airport shuttle came and picked her up. She took a flight to Thailand, then changed her mind and returned. She had been up for days and was taken to the hospital Thursday night.

Makes me wonder if she is a newcomer?

Typically, newcomers are more labor workers and this seems to fit her profile.... lots of kids, marriage at a young age and farmer.

The reason why I pointed this out, is that most newcomers and even the older Hmongs tend to believe or have a view that life is better back in Laos or Thailand.

There is some truth to their thinking... yes, they might not have cars, nice houses, bank accounts and money. But they also don't have monthly payments, mortages, or stress. I can relate to her, I wish I have the guts to just pack up and get on a plane to Thailand or Laos.

NoooooOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo!!!!!  You must not conform.  Go back to your third person ways.  It's much more entertaining to read and distinct to you.   :2funny:

Yea Lyn... at least talking in the 3rd person makes you sound cute and innocent. Although, I am sure you're probably some 50 year old Hmong man with 8 kids, bald and overweight. But like I said, at least talking in the 3rd person makes it all right for the rest of us.  O0

Don't change!

Really? I didn't change, just got tired of people freaking out about my way of speech. Truth is I love talking in 3rd person more than 1st. Like before, I already gave reasons why I don't like talking in 1st person much but to only people I knew. If Lyn in 3rd person is what you want back in PH then she may return at the end of September. That is unless anyone had a problem with it. Right now it's undecided I don't want to keep going back and forth between normal and weird. ;D

I am pretty sure she ran off with her lover but discovered that the grass is not much greener on the other side.

Yeah this story somehow doesn't make any sense, how did she came back to the country without a US passport? :icon_scratch: The earlier story says she didn't take jack nothing with her.

the full story isn't out yet. the families still don't know how she was able to fly to Thailand and back since no passport was mentioned in any of the articles. we don't know if she took her ID with her or not. the articles just said her purse, keys, and cell phone were left inside her van, but that doesn't necessary means her IDs were left also.

one thing for sure, is that she DID NOT left to meet a lover or ran off with a lover. NO cheating was involved nor NO lover was involved. a lot of hmong ppl assumed she was cheating and ran off with a lover or ran to Thailand to meet with a lover and discovered that the grass wasn't greener over there so she came back. these very same people are the ones who are bashing her all over FB and saying mean things. these are just speculations ONLY. hopefully the truth would come out once she is released home or the families are able to speak to her. But for now, people will continue with their assumptions.

Exactly. Story did not add up, in order to boarded a plane to Thailand, it required US passport and meaning that US Custom has be alerted. Either way, if she did board the plane, meaning those guys at the gate were not doing their job sufficiently and they should  include immediate managers  be terminated.

last contact with families was around 4:30pm. her van wasn't discovered until around 8:30pm and wasn't reported as a missing person until much later that evening. from 4:30pm until 8:30pm, she could had already flew out and that's probably why security at the airport didn't discovered that she's a missing person.

I don't know if she's a newcomer. But it's likely she is since she knows how to head back that way. lol

I don't like life in Laos or Thailand. I can live there for two or three months max, not even half a year. But I'll need to be back to Minnesota again forever.  Those who think it's peaceful there are missing the point: the people there are always backstabbing you and the government and law are not going to be on your side; they are always looking for troubles, partly to make you respect them and pay them. I'm not spending my retirement money there. It's not going to be a good retirement.

Depends how to you live there, if you go live lavishly there among the poor then you are right it's not very safe.  Because you're exposing that you have money, even if the authority don't try to cheat you, the crooks will rob you eventually.

If you blend in and just try to live like a locals there, not showing you have money you should be ok.  It's common sense, you can't go and live like you're rich among the poor where everyone's house is made up of straws while your house is looking like a luxurious hotel.

Some people got this idea all wrong, they think they'll go there built a very nice house, have couple of nice cars in the drive way and live like they're rich over there.  If you want to live like you're rich, just stay here in the u.s and go live in a nice neighborhood.. ..why go to a poor third world country and behave like that over there.  You're just asking for trouble.

You are right in that strategy. But in time someone is going to find you out. lol

If you live close by or in Vientiane, you're safe, there's plenty of people there who have more money than you.

It's probably much easier to fly back then coming back in the US. Can't blame xenophobic Americans. Well, glad she's safe. Now she's going to have to pay for her actions both with the family and the law. People only stage these things for very specific reasons, wants becoming needs and this likely involve people.
