My hands you took
My heart you protect
How my life has changed since we’ve met
No longer do I ache when I am with you

Forward, we will march on
Together we will experience life
And take challenges in strife
Happy together we will be

I will love you until the sun shines no more
Until the moon has lost its glow
Until the Mekong no longer gives life to a little boy running free in Laos.

In the portrait of my home that is now lost
With time along the many paths I’ve fought to survive
The old hut tuck behind the dirt road

A small path that lead me to the Mekong
Dimly lit was the candle I held tightly in my hand
The fear trembled up and down my spine

The river of life that runs deep within my heart
I uttered to my young self softly
You will be just fine one day

Sadness engulfed me whole
You may shoot me down with your unkind words
You may keep me broken

But I will rise again one day
I will dance like I just score the goal in the world cup
I will pray to the heaven for all the boys and girls

Rise again, one day you will.

If I should cry
Don't be scolding
If I should die
And leave you for a while
Find me deep inside
And you will smile
For time is too slow
For those who wait
Too short for those who laugh
As for my love for you
will forever be eternal

Stop trying to calm the storm. Calm yourself, the storm will pass. Buddha.
