Title: Marriage Proposal/Engagement

For those of you that are married:

Guys, did you go to your inlaw's house to ask for their daughter or did you have your wife come with you first?

Ladies, your thoughts on the above? How did you do it?

For those of you who are not yet married, what is your plan?

I don't like fancy proposals but I do want the boy to respect my mom and ask for her approval too. If and when I find my hubby, I think I would like to let my family know beforehand that we had agreed on marriage and if I should not return home one evening, they'll know where I went. ;D
