what's the best service for a wireless net service that i can use away from home and while at home as well on my laptop?
-
Best to check what's in your area first. Location plays a big part with Internet on the go. But some of the options are Mifi wireless routers that act as mobile Wi-Fi hotspots or get a tethering plan added to your phone line.

i looked into mifi and verizon's plan is 5 gb for $50. Don't know if that's a good one or not?

T-Mobile 4G wireless tethering from Samsung Galaxy SII to Laptop running Firefox on Windows 7.
Of course, tethering is free...

Tethering is different on carriers but you almost always lose unlimited data unless you want to take the risk.
