General Discussion / Re: Today's traffic out of the bay area
« on: June 28, 2019, 02:51:25 PM »
I was in SF on Wed for my daughter to picked up her visa for Spain. My butt hurts sitting in traffic. My feet/leg was tired from driving. I was thinking of heading the other direction from SF to Gilroy Outlets/Los Banos vs Livermore Outlets on our way back home.

I guess weekdays traffic is bad no matter how many hours you planned ahead. We almost missed my daughter visa appt by 10 min. I told her we need to go earlier this time to pick it up. We didn’t look around SF but want to get out there and be somewhere else.

Too bad uploading has been too much headaches in here. I’ve shared plenty in the past.

do people still use home phones...?

Lol! My husband does because he doesn’t need a cell phone. Beside he doesn’t go places, hang out, etc. He already hate when people have cell phone but never pick up calls.

Which is why I don’t have a cell phone. My $20 wireless home phone is good enough. I paid about $150 a month for 1 iphone, internet, $10 ipad device and $20 home wireless with ATT. I didn’t want to get a new iphone after I finished my payment. My daughter pay $50 for the cell phone since I gave it to her. She want to get a new iphone before she leave to study abroad in Spain this August for her 3rd year of college. I also will have to add the international plan serve.

Such a nice and sweet daughter you have there to come up with something you like.  I've always wanted to go to BAB for myself but it gets to be a lot of money so each time I come out with nothing.   :(

BAB are very expensive without a sale going on. Average $40-60 just to have it all dressed out. My kids have 2 box full of BAB. I want to give it away but don’t know anyone. My daughter came home last weekend with new outfits for one of her BAB. I had to lecture her no more.

I did federal yesterday. Couldn’t do state without my login info this morning.  They make you change it every year. If I can’t find my info then going to get an extension until October.

Got less this year because my daughter college tuition is covered 100% this year with scholarships. IRS made minor change to their 1098-T form. Last year was a good $2000-2500.

Hopefully next year we’ll get it since she’s studying abroad in Spain this coming year. We have fees to pay next month.

I order one but it didn’t power on when I set it up after 1st charging . Sent it back for a refund.

Maybe I’ll get new one this summer. My schedule this year around my kids seem hard for me to be on track. I used to be able to go walking/jogging each morning right away after I drop off my kids at school. My oldest daughter need to be drop off at school too. Next year she is studying abroad in Spain. Already got accepted and just waiting to get her visa done. Once she is gone I only have my 4 younger kids around.

General Discussion / Re: I'm thinking about downsizing
« on: March 27, 2019, 12:15:55 PM »
You don't know Hmong and Mev families, do you? We have many sharing rents. We all can even sleep on the floor together. Grandkids to grandmas and grandmas can live in the same house. No big house is too expensive for us.

Put an ad out. Be soft on the number of dwellers and you'll get families competing for it. Many people find it easier to rent than to buy, because they don't qualify for mortgages or just don't want to hold mortgages for longer terms.

Too many people either cheating the system or too many incomes cramped up together.

A Hmong family here on housing.  Paid only $400 a month while there is 7 grandkids (2 just moved in last year) and 6-8 adults and the parents.  You are looking at closed to 15-18 people in a 4 bedrooms home.  Got 6 cars parked in the driveway.  Its why those grandkids never come outside to play with the rest of the neighborhood kids even though everyone go to the same school.

That is Houa Khong 2nd location. Used to be a Flip restaurant that I never got to tried out.

I don’t like their 2nd location. I haven’t been there for a while. I order 1-2x and stop going there. Depending who is the cook/chef that day. 1st location has better laab.

When I go to Lee’s Market. It is for their ribs with sticky rice. I pretty much hate driving across town so I avoid unless I have to get some stuffs.

Only $50K?  What about residuals? ... Isn't Gerber going to use her picture as their campaign all over???
And for how long???

Just for speaking event but not the face of Gerber baby products. The original baby Gerber on products is 91 yo and still living....

Her show is boring or take too long to get to the point. I stop halfway during the 1st episode.
