Hey
I’ve been to a lot of Hmong funerals
I will just tell you how it’s done here in the US
A lot of times 99.99% of the time is mostly budget
Some have 3 days
Some have 2 days
Some have 1 days
Some open 24 hours
Some close at 10pm and restart in the morning
Again its all budget $$$
Throughout the day, they will play qeej and sing
Kneel and collect your lucky charms
Etc...
Lots of crying
Thank guest for donations
And eating and cooking

That’s pretty much it
There no specific day 3,2,1
Can mixed and match to your budget$$$

A lot of children and young adult
It just 1 day or 2 day max
Sometimes 1-2 cows
Thats it
It just budget $$$
And their soul/spirit isn’t far away been to many places

Not sure.
One time I made it a point to learn all that. I asked the funeral conductors questions at every stage and they got so mad at me. Now, when they see me around, they don't even acknowledge me anymore.
I grew up knowing that if you don't ask questions, then you don't know things. But our elders don't appreciate questions. I've learned that Hmong elders prefer that you don't ask questions but just go along. That's more respectful. So, I'll keep that in mind from now on when with elders.

Most Hmong family are just doing the 2 days. As 3 days 24hrs a day. It's too long of a service. Sat-Sun. Plus it'll cost less money as you don't have to feel all the people for that 3 days. Plus it's easier for the relatives to help in those 2 days of service.
When you don't have money. The one day is too hectic. Everything is a rush, rush, rush.
